My game was accepted by Tizen after only two days. Must be slow in the office. Anyways, how do I find out the score they gave it? And what about incentives?

Tizen - If a banner image of your application is registered, then your application could be selected as a Featured App on www.tizenstore.com and cell phones. Register your banner and be selected as a Featured App.

What is the requirement for a banner?

    Found the answer:
    Size 690x160
    PSD File
If a background color of banner is transparent, your banners might not be clear on the phone. Therefore, please keep it in mind before registering them.
A banner image must be 690x180pixels, and the file size 500KB or less; JPG, PNG or GIF format only.
The original file size 10MB or less; PSD format only.

Anyone made any money from Tizen?

Or I guess it'll be a while before anything really happens, with devices only just appearing now-ish-ly?

I submitted an app with accelerometer the next day after GS said it was supported and just last night Tizen failed it because they said it does not work on G-sensor. Just trying to get 1 app in there. My other app has been rejected 2 times 1 for the lack of CIRCLE icon instead of square and somehow duplicate actors which I found GS had converted some not all my game attributes that were set to "0" to "0.0"

Stormy I hit the same trouble and trying to remember how I got around it. Something about following the link page not working with their reset password. I believe I opened a new Tizen sign in page and after punched in temp password scrolled down and there was possibly some other check box or something with me not hitting enter but choosing submit. It's foggy to me now but hope it helps.
Hit a simple dead end very quickly...

I attempted to sign up to become a Tizen developer over at http://seller.tizenstore.com

Filled in the appropriate info on Christmas Eve. I never received the verification email, plus I went through the process twice on the same day.

I decided maybe something had gone wrong or was being slow at the Tizen end, and would wait till after Christmas.

Jan 5th still nothing, just tried to to register again, it says my email address has already been registered... but I can't login.... so went with the 'forgotten password' option, it says it has sent a temporary password to my email address... But nothing is coming through.

My email address is typed correctly...

It's 110% not going to my spam folder.

Can't find any support contact with Tizen to get them to see what's going on.

    Any ideas?

    Hi
I do have problems with my latest games publishing to Tizen.
I got rejections due to this issue - Application screen is bigger than device screen.
Interesting that I didn't have such problem with all my previous games which are already live in Tizen store. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

    Thanks

I think we can help with this if you submit a bug report. Attach game and all the rejection notes and logs provided by Tizen.

The wording of the rejection isn't clear, but I might guess that they object to the game begin letterboxed? Tizen has narrowed their acceptance criteria and has started to reject some letterboxed apps. If this is the case, you have the overscan and stretch options to choose from during publishing.

Thanks for your prompt reply. And 3 more games got rejections for the same reason - Application screen is bigger than device screen.
Can you please provide more information about letterboxed apps? What do you mean by that? And where can I find more information about the overscan and stretch options to choose during publishing?
    Thanks

Ok. I find out that all my apps have been with Overscan option. And as you can see they are getting rejections! What to do in this sitution? To try Stretch option???

My app generates the following error message in the Tizen emulator when playing a sound.

    "js/gse/gse-interpreter.jsx (11) :ERROR: gs.ExtensionAudioManager.onRequestError [object XMLHttpRequestProgressEvent]"

The sound does play and the app seams to work. I will submit but it may be rejected because of this error.

app rejected by Tizen - possible accelerometer issue

Tizen reports: It's not able to control airplane and airplane moves only to the top-right part of screen.

The games works fine on iPhone, iPad and in the GameSalad simulator.

    I submitted an Error report.

It depends on how your game is designed with respect to screen size. There's some advice about screen size issues in the Cookbook: Optimizing Games for Tizen. If your game isn't designed for overscan, then stretch is probably the safest option.

My app got approved for Tizen :-)

I have also placed my Content ID and Deep Link in publisher and hit UPDATE.

...So what do I have to do to get the membership extension and incentive cashola?

I have been using the stretch option when publishing to Tizen. I must say the legacy iPhone and iPad projects just look great using that option. Non of the actors are stretched and the games just look very professional. With overscan I had to modify each project so all actors appear in the correct location. It required lots of testing and modification but with stretch no modifications are required. Well done GS team. I love stretch. Thank you for implementing this feature. @BobD based on my experience I would recommend going with stretch and you will see what I mean when you load your game on the Tizen emulator. If they don't look good then you can modify your project for overscan. Hope this helps. Cheers ;-)

Yay my first app got approved by Tizen!! Waiting for my incentives now! In the meantime, get ready my other apps for submission!! :))
  • ChaserChaser Member Posts: 1,453
Just a heads up! I contacted Tizen due to 1 of my apps just sitting "in process" after my other app that was submitted a day later was rejected 3 days ago. Tizen stated they are currently delayed. Submitted on 1-9-14 and still sitting in process.

@Chaser I submitted my app on the 13th jan and it got approved today.
  • ChaserChaser Member Posts: 1,453
@DimensionScope it was resubmitted on the 9th after a rejection. Perhaps they take their time on resubmitted apps.
  • eliteappseliteapps Member, PRO Posts: 47
It does seem to vary widely. I've had re-submitted apps approved within 1 or 2 days, and new ones still waiting after 6 days. Additionally some of the new ones seem to be assessed quicker than the older ones.

Are there still issues with the accelerometer for Tizen publishing?
  • Braydon_SFXBraydon_SFX Member, Sous Chef, Bowlboy Sidekick Posts: 9,273
@CodeWizard - Penguin Pounce was rejected because of overscan and one other thing.
This is what they sent with the reject notice: "The author signature does not exist."
Any idea what this means and how I can fix it?

@Braydon_SFX You may have sent the wrong "yourapp.wgt" file. You need to upload the one that is modified after you do a build from the TizenIDE. The updated "yourapp.wgt" will be in your tizen-workspace>your app>yourapp.wgt.

I just got this email from GameSalad support:

    >We are currently tracking some issues with how the accelerometer readings are being tracked. It appears that some factors (like scene gravity for example) may not be translated properly. Our Tizen dev team is working on a fix for this issue and it should be included in the next Tizen update. Right now, I don't have an ETA as to when that will be released. When it is, there should be a notification on the GameSalad forums. Once that is live, republish your project and test it again. This may help with some of the control issues in your app.

Ah good thought. Could very well be. It was a late night submission. ;)
  • I just ran into "Saving is failed." error when modifying a project that was rejected and trying to upload a new binary. Just delete the rejected app and create a new one and it works.

Thanks for this. I was curious if they were having issues on their end or what?

I got a message today about some upgrades to the seller portal and I think it might be related to that. When we deleted the app created a few weeks ago and uploaded again there weren't any issues.
