Your game play is really awesome and addictive. Graphics of the game and sounds are also really good. For Icon As I said its not coming out. Check left sword icon again. I am telling you this because you worked very hard for this. And want to see you successful.
Looks really good !! Consider me on the 'I'm buying it when it's out' list too !!
Please give your comments, and also I'll appreciate any comments on the Touch Arcade thread
If I were to make one small criticism - and its nothing to do with the actual game - I'd say there seems to be a common and repeated shortcoming when it comes to game descriptions by indie developers (in videos, iTunes and promotional material in general) that takes a particular form:
With a lot of independent developers game features tend to be presented in very prosaic terms (often boarding on the technical) - I've seen some shocking examples 8-X ) I'm not saying you are even close to that kind of thing here, only that your game features are presented in a fairly matter-of-fact way which - to me - jars with the overall theme, the video and certainly the music.
Here's an example of the kind of thing I mean:
If Toy Story was made by a small independent iOS developer: Realistic CGI rendering !! 8 Different characters ! Over an hour and a half of full resolution computer graphics !! Realistic particle effects . . . . etc
If Toy Story was made by Pixar: Follow Woody and Buzz on an adventure that takes them through a magical world of . . . blah blah blah
Or another example:
An iOS adventure game made by a small independent iOS developer: Find the hidden tomb of King Twankieno !! Solve 15 puzzles !! Collect coins and jewels to proceed !!! Fight dragons !! GameCentre !!!! . . . etc
The very same iOS adventure game made by one of the bigger games companies: A thousand years of history lost in one cataclysmic event, a mystery left buried for millennia, come on a journey of discovery that leads you through the darkly mysterious world of . . . blah blah blah . . . .
For me a promotional video is to excite and intrigue people rather than list features - and I'm not saying your video doesn't excite and intrigue - this is just a general observation - in your case I think things like: "face challenging puzzles" + "defeat evil forces" + "master legendary blades" could be packaged in a much more appealing way - in fact I think the promotional video would be better without this stuff - but if you do want to explain that there are puzzles (instead of simply showing them) then I'd go for a much less prosaic approach: ("unlock the mystery of . . . blah blah blah . . before the shadow of death falls on the tomb of . . . . blah blah blah . . . etc etc)
Woww...I thought it was on the store and I dashed to my iPhone to download )
And yes, the icon looks good! Chakku
LOL im sorry for the confusion man, it will be soon though.

John, Yeah iv'e tried that it didnt work out, the design of the swords in my icon makes it look weird if the swords are in the way you suggested..
This awesomeness is awesome ! >-

Took strongly into my consideration and I will do my best to utilise your advice in the "launch trailer"!
Icon works for me. Now hurry up and get it on the store! I wanna play
The icon looks great. Good to see its going to be free
Roy I am not talking about only sword positions. Its about detailing of blade sword,Color combinations. Thats fine. If other things its good then you can go with that.

Hey John, first thank you very much for giving feedback and trying to help, As for the detailing of the blade, its much more detailed then what i showed you before, here is the detailed version:
Color combinations - I'll go back to play with this a bit more and try to get a better result..
I'm no artist but wouldn't the shield colour be better in blue or something as red on red might be hard to see when it's a smaller icon or maybe gold detail on the swords?

I really like the icon (the detailed one). But whenever someone posts an icon in the forums I immediately shrink it down to screen display size. And I agree with DeepBlueApps, too. The red gets lost a bit.
I like the icon too, very nice, playing around with colour never hurt anyone so I'd give it a go, but even if you return to the red colour scheme as it is it still works very nicely.
One small issue for me: with the silver boarder, your inside radius is the same size as your outside radius (when the inside should be smaller to maintain a constant thickness) making it look a little awkward.
There are good points about touch ups, but at the resolution this icon will be displayed at some will never see it.
Perhaps you can go with a different sheild color, or add two layer halfs over the sheild. Use a horizontal black gradient at the left and right edges that fades to alfa-0 at the center of the sheild. It will give it more "pop" (more 3 dimensional) and reduce the amount of solid red you have going (the range).
The One @creativeapps showed I think is brilliant. But @RP as someone who just came across and looked at your example I feel you can't have red on red. The shield is good so I think it might be the blade handles or something. That's just my observation at first sight.
@Elfizm Sure, but what I'm showing here is a way to keep the red, if he so chooses to remain with that color. Also keeping in mind he already has a lot of time invested in the graphics that were already created for the game and trailer that have a red shield.
@RP by all means its fine, and if that's they way the game has been designed around then leave red on red. But if it's going to change my suggestion would be don't put colour on same colours. They just blend in with each other. Either way it looks good but if Roy doesn't want to settle for good, then make it a few changes maybe gold handles, and it will become great. But any how excited to play this when it comes out.
Good morning everyone ~O) I really appreciate all the comments, you guys are extremely helpful!
Ive been playing around with the icon all morning now, what I did fix is the metal frame inner radius, practically created that one from scratch again, and now indeed it looks more natural.
About the colour of the shield, honestly anything not "red related" just doesn't look good behind the swords, And i'm still trying to find the right blend, If anyone have an idea for the right shield colour ill be more than happy to send over the psd file.
@P-O-M Are you planning on releasing an Android version on Google Play? I would love to try it out
Hey CJE, The game has an "in game store", and it also uses IAP, thus if GameSalad have IAP support for this platform, the game will probably be there.. sooner or later.
Wouldn't it be awesome if every one of the 10K viewers for this thread will give a buck! LOL
Can the release of this game get a yellow sticky, email notification, sms alert and a bat signal so I don't have to check every 5 minutes in this post if it is released?
tatiangMember, Sous Chef, PRO, Senior Sous-ChefPosts: 11,949
@LudwigHeijden The bat signal is currently broken but you can star this discussion and get updates whenever someone posts. I know, not quite what you're looking for...
