Just banned him and deleted the content. It was a troll account.

I’ve been up for over an hour now with my 1-year old just reminiscing about GS, the community we had here and reading old threads with a smile on my face

I still have the GS itch and want to come back and make games that my 2 kiddos would enjoy playing.

    Hoping everyone else is well!

Hey! How you all doing :)

I've been playing around with gamedev for years after GS but never made any good income. I made courses for Blender Game Asset creation and have been learning Unreal and also made add ons for Blender in Python. One of them is very popular and has been downloaded over 20k times.

Two years ago I stopped with Game Dev. I just couldn't get myself to making games anymore knowing the would drown in the fast majority of better games :) I have moved to the country side and have a shed in my garden where I will start woodworking once I finished redecorating the house. I'm learning new stuff like gardening and birdwatching. You cannot imagine how many species fly around in the woods next to our home. See image.

I hope you are all doing well. I'm often thinking about the good times here and the dreams I had making games with GS. Maybe one day I'll make a fun game again.

Yes. I remeber you and your blender videos.

I still do some game jams. And hang around in GAMEmaker.

Gamesalad times were some of the most fun times of my life.

There was such a great community back in the day.

Without it i doubt i would have learned as much, certainly not at the pace that i did.

There were so many genius level minds just floating around here, looking to help..

GameSalad is still near and dear to my heart!

Best of all was this forum.

What brilliant people stopped by here!

I'm still about! Still making GameSalad games, still checking the forums.

I first joined GameSalad in 2010, left in 2017, debating coming back in 2024. I didnt like some of the directions GS took back in the day and the creator had a load of bugs but I understood its strengths and weaknesses, I loved it, I just ran out of time for game making ... Interested to see what GameSalad has become in the time I've been away.

    @uptimistik

Is it all browser based these days? No local client?

When I click 'New', nothing happens, no option for blank or template ... Not a good start lol

  • ArmellineArmelline Member, PRO Posts: 5,364

There's still a Mac client but the web client is a little more feature rich and the Mac client is struggling to keep up with the under-the-hood MacOS changes over the years. I still stubbornly stick to the Mac client but it's kind of shooting yourself in the foot to do so. For the web client, be sure to use a Chromium based browser - it works way better in one.

I'm predominantly using the web client now (Creator 2). Once you get a handle of it it's pretty powerful, definitely more convenient than the Mac/Windows clients we all came from. Nice to be able to load it up anywhere.

Thanks guys, I'll look at the web client ... if I can ever start anything, this is what I get when I click on New .... Nothing (Tried Edge and Chrome)

@uptimistik it appears to be something on my account specifically as I logged out, set up a brand new account and it worked as expected. Not sure if it's something where I'm a legacy account that previously had Pro subscriptions etc or not but this account certainly has nothing showing under New. I tried to PM you and the message just hung and eventually timed out also.
