Hehe, been there for two days... sales steadily dropping... don't think it makes much of a difference. I haven't started pushing it yet... just want to get a heap of good reviews and then I'll start marketing once the update is out and I'll also release a LITE version.
I had to drop a few things for V1.1. I could definitely optimise it more but I'd have to rework the entire game (and really, I could keep going forever but I HAVE to move on). Basically I just tweaked gfx, lowered the enemy attack rate in parts and dropped some animations... nothing too noticeable and VERY worth it
I'm very happy for my first game! I even enjoy playing it!
Keep in mind that reviews for the first version will not be visible by default...I'm not sure if ppl who've downloaded a past version can review the latest version for again.
I tried this on my 3G and even though there's some lag...it's still pretty amazing! If anything this game makes me want the iPhone a whole lot more! Good job!
you know when the big flying saucer thing appears fairly early on? as that came onscreen, my ship vanished, as did my bullets. But I carried on moving my finger around till I hit the saucer and it died, and my ship re-appeared.
Also, it sometimes feels like its getting "stuck" and jumping around a bit.. but that may be related to the performance issues you have fixed in 1.1 maybe?
Also.. you want me to stick my review on this version? or wait till the update so its visible on the latest version?
Just my opinion but 1.99 could be factor. I typically skip a 1.99 game since there are a million .99 games to try. I'll pay more if I know it's good but I won't typically try something unliquidated for that.

Odd! I do know that the ship sometimes disappears if you take your finger off it and hit fire... it's GS screwing up... been over and over the code... it seems touch is still a little glitchy. If you keep your finger on the ship it's fine (I also think this has something to do with the performance issues).

I'm not dropping the price yet. Sales are steadily increasing (I've gained about 200 places in top grossing over the last 2 days). To make the cash I'm making now I'd need at least twice as many downloads. I may drop the price for the update when I release the lite version but we'll see....
BarkBarkCo said: Hey POLY, I lowered my app to .99 and I saw a slight increase. Just be sure to point out that it's a temporary sale! ppl love a sale! ;-)
That coupled with you being N&N games...you should be able to double you d/l's at least!
Also, I was referring to the iPhone 3G. Gameplay lags pretty bad, but it's still awesome to see what GS is capable of!
Doubling my downloads would only result in the same amount of money, anyway ;-) But I guess more people would get to play it... hmmm... food for thought.. perhaps a "sale" ISN'T a silly idea... Thanks, guys
For sure It's not my game and there is no right answer. The price diff does cost sales but it's just a matter of how much that matters. Obviously you have to double your sales to make up the money. But the other factor is the category ranks. If you can crack a top fifty or so you can ride that a month or more and make more money in the long run. I can say that from twice expierience. Once I got pasts 25 I had a run of 300 Dollie days.
I would suggest dropping it at least the last day you are new and noteworthy. People will notice. And you may shoot up pretty quick

Thank you very much!
Are you going to post sales statistics?
Great game!
Don't you worry, I see that your game is in the New & Noteworthy section so this should increase your sales
Patience my friend!
(
Love it by the way ;-)
will review laters once I have played it to death
Noticed a bit of slowdown frame drops on my 3GS, so looking forward to 1.1 to see how your optimisation skills are
good work tho, really well polished etc.
Sparks.
