Timer problems after upgrading to 0.8.8

When loading into a scene there is now a pause for a few seconds after the loading icon has disappeared, this makes my timers off by a few seconds when initially loading the scene. Yup. 0.8.8 pretty much ruined my life. Not quite... but it SUCKS.
