My kids think it's so cool their dad has made three fun iPhone apps. I come home from work and they say "Dad, can I get on your iPhone ...and play Angry Birds?"
By the way, I have a Japanese flatmate who's just finished a translation course! Ironically, I used a friend back in NZ for my translation... but I could ask her for you?

Hey you made it to new and noteworthy, don't let any bad reviews get you down. I agree about changing the nose thing though... I think for the most part people think JUST a nose might be gross lol
The more I think about changing the nose, the more I think screw that. I wanted something different, and changing to a machine would just be a compromise to sameness. Like I said, it would be nice to make some money, but that's not vital to my game making. I have a day job.
I am going to spend some time this weekend (and I'm on holiday Monday) looking at adding the joystick option. Crap though, it just looks complicated.
I'm right behind you with not wanting to compromise - it just sounded like you were annoyed it hadn't sold as much as you'd have liked, and you suggested the machine thing yourself! I'm all for keeping the nose if that's what makes you happy, mate!
Stick with the joystick stuff - I think it'll make the game a lot more playable. Having buttons for up down left and right has always felt a little counterintuitive to me when a joystick allows you to concentrate on movement and not where the buttons are! (as in, your thumb stays in one place, instead of using your fingers and thumb to find four different buttons!).
I've been faced with the same issue when people advised me to compromise on my stance on not including conventional music theory in my Scoreless Music stuff, saying it will sell better because people recognise the tried and true.
My decision was and still is final, however, and I'm sticking to only what I've developed because I honestly believe in it. Perhaps my friends' well-meaning advice would have really helped fill my pockets which are still largely empty, but I truly have this feeling that somewhere down the road I'm going to be glad I did not compromise.
Now... I have all these complicated things called IDEAS...
I have to say this is one of the weirdest game ideas I've seen! It's pretty entertaining, and it runs like butter on an iPad. I also like the little touches you added to the game, like the tip of the nose having collision and the motion blur when it snorts up a ball.
One thing I'd like to see is an option to switch between the current control method and dragging my finger around the screen. Like I said I played it on an iPad and it was more difficult to control the nose with the buttons.
Maybe in your game you can make some rules if left handed is pressed put joystick on left etc and in your actual game options have option press joystick for left or right handed and that way its better suited for everyone, but just a thought anyway i'm happy the way it is Cheers

That's a really good idea, and it would have been easy to do. I sent off the update last night, but I wish I had thought of that. Thanks.

Maybe some kind of vaccum machine?

Good luck fella, rooting for you!

This code needs a home. It is a lovely code, unique and well deserving of redemption. And remember, more can be posted!

Btw, I took code MJHT4W6AX9EN
Well done
Btw did you use your own nose?
Yeah, my own nose. It was easier just to photograph my own than ask someone else and have to explain what I wanted to do with it.
As for the controls, I'm close to posting an update that will have the option of using a joystick. Here is a screen shot:
I keep switching the stick position from the left to the right and back again. I'm thinking left is better, but I want to submit tonight. Ugh.
These codes are still good:

Cheers
The 'joystick on the right' sounds good too - it's what I did with my retro shooter before I got the 'touch anywhere' demo from CodeMonkey.
You could also, with a little tweaking, put it in the middle too
