It's currently on the third page (when viewed on an iPad) of featured "Best New Games" on the App Store. That's awesome!
I just bought it and am looking forward to trying it out.
Thanks!
I really hope you like it!
This one seems pretty divisive - which is not what I was going for, but there you are! :P
If you're having trouble stopping your ship by tapping, try 'tap and hold' instead - seems to work better for most people (and an awful miscommunication on my part).
If you could leave an honest review or rating that'd be ace too!
The music ads to it IMO. A lot. I couldn't think of a more suitable tune. Not sure I've unlocked any other tracks yet but I have some new colour schemes and ships! Damn you, I'm meant to be DEVELOPING MY OWN GAMES, not PLAYING YOURS! Haha.

Quantumsheep How do you get Apple to feature you? Do they just find you/ your game or did you email them asking? Thanks
'I don't know' is the honest and (probably) disappointing answer.
I assume it's linked to TA though, as it's the only thing that SOS and DS had in common.
For SOS I contacted Apple and asked if they'd consider featuring my game. They didn't. But a week after (after the TA review) they did.
Which was lovely of them
For DS, I got featured before the TA review, but I was mentioned in their 'coming out' feature along with a multitude of other games on Wednesday (the day before release).
If you read the intro to the DS review, you'll see the TA guys take notice of what their forumites think.
Quite right too!
How to get into the 'good books' of the forum dwellers at TA is not something I planned. I just made games I liked and they very graciously seem to like too.
Which is a gift, really.
I'm very grateful for that, but I couldn't tell you how to do it!
Not v. helpful, but then I'm winging it at all times. Who knows, eh?
I think it's your general openness and humble personality along with your obvious passion for the games you create that gains you admiration and support on the TA forums.
Your just a decent geezer, putting out games that tug at people's nostalgia, and doing it in an upfront and honest way...
People like that... that's why your gaining a consistent reputation over at TA.
@quantumsheep Thanks Anyway ! And Merry Christmas! Did you email them asking about SOS after you had published to the App Store ? and is TA just Apple? :P
@quantumsheep Got a chance to play your game today. Sweet game. I'm enjoying the music too. I'll leave a nice review for you in the next couple of days. As socks said " There is a white line (1px wide ?) down the left hand side of the screen." It appeared on my retina iPad 4th Gen but only on some levels.
One question for you. How did you get FB to open the app and not the browser without a link redirection ???
At first the controls were a bit unusual for me idk aha , but once I played the first two levels , now I can't put it down ! Great game , how many levels have you made for it ? @quantumsheep
EDIT - I re-read the first post again , 100 , good job!

Yeah, it's my best selling game so far so there's that - because of Xmas the best new games thing got stuck.
I didn't even think there'd be a 'best new games thing' for Xmas - I'd assumed it would all be just Xmas related stuff. Was a nice surprise!
I'm pretty happy about it all, but people having trouble with the controls has been bugging me no end. I submitted an update today, so hopefully that'll help people when it goes live

Nice job. I picked it up today.
I tested it on an iPhone6+ and i never saw any white line either, so add that to the mix

Just been playing the game on an iPad 1st Gen... and can confirm NO white line.
There was an awful lot of fun to be had though... great atmosphere too with the music.
Again... great job Sheepmeister. Have fun tracking your sales figures over the Christmas period
DAMN YOU, QS!!!! THAT MUSIC IS STUCK IN MY HEAD!!!
Damn your game's addictiveness! Haha.
Thank you!
Huh
Thanks! People seem to be having trouble with the controls, while others are finishing the game multiple times.
What do you do with that info, eh?
Thanks! Not everyone likes the music unfortunately. There's six tracks in total!
I also got a review at PocketGamer - 6/10
I'll take that!

Clearly whoever reviewed it at Pocketgamer has no ears, eyes or soul. It's an easy 9!!!
Heh - he did miss that you can unlock new music - but that's ok.
And I respect his opinion, and have done for years now. I'm disappointed he didn't like it more, but that's more on me than him I think.
It's all good though!

Oh my word. How about this for the best Xmas present EVAH?

I'm totally blown away. I was hoping for a review, but never thought the reviewer would 'get' the game as totally as Shaun has.
Tears of sheer relief here, believe me!

Thanks all for the kind words!
I'm in this weird twilight zone situation where reviews on iTunes are very mixed, but complete strangers are letting me know they love it.
It does my sheepy head in a bit!

Well, a couple more reviews came in - a 3.5/5 from 148apps here:
http://www.metacritic.com/game/ios/docking-sequence
And a review (3/5) from Modojo here:
http://www.modojo.com/reviews/2014-12-31-docking-sequence
This means Docking Sequence is the first Quantum Sheep game to get a Metacritic score:
http://www.metacritic.com/game/ios/docking-sequence
Very grateful the game got lots of attention, disappointed that I disappointed some people with it, but hopefully the upcoming update might help!
