Hello all!

My new game, the first in just under two years, is available now!

The game was inspired by a free demo from @stormystudios website, and turned into a full-on Air Supply game in four months.

It took about four times longer than I thought it would!

Music is by my good friend Yerzmyey - made entirely on ZX Spectrum computers.

It. Is. Epic. :D

Art was done by a variety of people - I cannibalised artwork made for me by MisterFunkleberry a couple of years ago, as well as some by Basil.

Veira1 made a couple of the aliens, and the rest was done by myself and my family :O

It's turned out ok I think!

Here's the iTunes link:

https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/air-supply-infinite/id697969098?mt=8

And a trailer:

And here's a couple of screenshots! :D

And some blurb!

**Your Air Supply is running out! Again!**
A new spin on the infinite runner that melds out of this world retro music and graphics with modern gameplay!

Armed with a limited supply of Smart Bombs, and dwindling air, Sam must jump over enemies, avoid UFO tractor beams and handle asteroids as he searches for the legendary Infinity Cups!

The eight cups remain hidden across seven planets and one black hole, their strange inscriptions long since forgotten and their locations reverently protected.

Watch time and space bend around you as you run onwards towards The Void at each location. Once there, you have a chance at grabbing an Infinity Cup for yourself, and a swift teleport to the next planet!

Use your skill to outwit and avoid your enemies! When it gets too much, a single Smart Bomb will destroy all Sam's enemies and fill his air supply up to half.

Careful use of Smart Bombs is essential when exploring the 8 locations that are host to the Infinity Cups...

Can you find all the cups? Will you see the future?

Get ready for your new addiction! :D

**Please Note: Though the game will run on original iPads/iphone4, it is recommended you please play on iPad2/iPhone4s and upwards.**

Features:

*The most amazing retro soundtrack by Yerzmyey, composed on 8bit ZX Spectrum computers! :D
*Beautifully animated retina retro graphics!
*Unlock new characters, planets, music and even colours as you run around the universe! Over 4,600 possible combinations!
*Run around entire planets!
*Collect 8 Infinity Cups to reveal the future!
*Avoid hazards like Aliens, UFOs and Asteroids!
*Retro look and feel - modern gameplay and Game Center achievements/leaderboards!
*Simple one button gameplay with configurable controls and layers of depth!
*No IAP or Ads at all! :D
*Universal build - play on iPhone or iPad!
*Adjustable Scanlines for that true retro look!
*Play a while... play... FOREVER!!!

Hope you like it!

+1 for the reference! Was just saying the other day someone should remake that game using GS...

Thank you guys - much appreciated!

Thank you! It has been a real technical challenge keeping as much of it as possible on just one scene. I'm also very proud of the trippy effects - all done with particles would you believe :D

I just wish GS would address the crashing when you press the 'i' button and then go back and try and start a new game. Fortunately it doesn't crash while you're playing as far as I know, but it's nagging me.

I also have an issue with GameCenter - there's a button on the top left of the title screen that in an earlier version let you post your score to GC - however, just pressing it crashed the whole game so I removed that simple 'post score' behaviour from it :(

It makes no sense to me, so there's certainly room for improvement!
    Looks great!

That would be great wouldn't it? :D

The game's got loads of retro references in there - bonus points if you can spot (and hear) them all!

    Love the music as well!

Did you license songs from YERZMYEY or did he make new songs specifically for the project?

    Cheers!

On mobile he lets me licence the tracks exclusively as he's a good friend.

He does let others use his tracks on ZX Spectrum games if you're making one of those!

Loving all the references! Nice touches - and the triply effects are so cool - I was wondering how you were doing that!?!? Awesome :)

It is very VERY close to it for sure - they had to be re-done for Retina graphics (and not the old vector display graphics alas!). Just seemed appropriate for the game!

The Infinity Cups are influenced strongly by the 8 cups of Ultimate from an old Speccy game called Tranz-Am - one of my fave games ever that!

Thanks! Sales have been pretty awful, but that's to be expected! The best thing that's come from this is that a game designer I have admired for years and years wrote to me to tell me he really liked the game and thought it was fun.

That alone has made my year! :D

The backgrounds came from trying to do the same effect for another game, and wondering how I could do it. I was watching lots of sci-fi and wanted a 'warp' effect. Then I realised that the movement could be approximated by expanding an image quickly - repeating that image with particles just came to me and it kinda works!

Well done Mr.Sheep... let me know how it does...

Yep it works well :) - I get the same effect also from expanding but the stars are individuals - which could be a bit of an issue but seems to be working well for what I want. I will show that to you soon k :)

Great news to get some kind words from somebody you respect, that's totally A+ awesome!

Love to hear that! Cheers, M@

Tranz Am on my speccy 48k = good times.

Loved hearing the audio samples and figuring out where I've heard them before.
Excellent work, can't wait to try it out.

(this makes your username even more blasphemous now ;))

    Thanks everyone else!

I got a review from the lovely guy at arcadelife - http://arcadelife.wordpress.com

He really likes it, and rightly so - he was on my test group and a lot of the changes were made to suit him!

The controls especially - I had no inkling that anyone would find the standard controls unintuitive, and he put me right on that!

Anyway, that's one review - we'll see if it's picked up by anyone else! :)

    Thanks guys, very much appreciated!

I was v. interested in the review saying it was a less frantic runner. I never thought of it like that! :O

Still, it got the same score as Oceanhorn.

And sold about a bazillion less!
