Which logo is best? - Updated Logos - PLEASE LOOK!

JagonAppsJagonApps Member Posts: 241
Thanks to VeiraGames doing a logo for me, I have had the inspiration to build off of it and make it my own. If anyone has a second or two, please have a look at my logos below and say which you like and/or any suggestions!
I'm a bit of a newbie tho!

I see other members suggesting dropping the word "Apps" and you've been given an "Awesome" for suggesting it... I'm in the small minority possibly but still, sorry, I can't be convinced otherwise there...
You will be, in time, assimilated into our cult, you will simply be known as Griffin™.
:D And do I get to know all the high secrets just after initiation, or when I reach level 7 of high priest? Can I change my title then to Griffin the Bountiful? Can I? Can I? *-:)
    Thanks for the replies guys.
    @Fal01 how about these?
@gyroscope fixed the 'A' on them you were annoyed about! :P
    VHIA-circle-clean
    VHIA-circle-dots
:-) I can read that much better now! Thanks for the time to do that although...I'll be honest, I still prefer no.8 from the last ones you showed... :-bd
    @gyroscope ohohhh I just couldn't help myself :P

    Griffin Apps (gyroscope)
Ha! Good one, @JagonApps! (Or how you will be known if you join @Socks' cult: @Jagon) ;-)
@gyroscope Even though I'm not with @Socks, I have to say if you compromised with GriffinApps, or something like that, it would be so good, and you could have a cool head of a griffin and stuff :)
Changing from DavidGriffinApps to GriffinApps is appealing to me the more I think about it... I'll post a thread eventually if I do change it; thanks for the suggestion. :-)

I personally like the last one. The 3rd to the last is nice, also.

The 2nd last is my favorite. Last one is cool too.

    Here's how to add images:

Hi @TheGabfather @Manto1 ! Thanks for the reponses. Can I ask why you liked the last one? (I liked it least :P) And the circular one, is it the shape or design more that is appealing?

    Thanks Max

I definitely prefer the first two, I like that font. I think in all of them though the word 'apps' is so small it's going to be hard to read.

My thoughts were pretty much identical, I'd go for the first logo and lose the 'apps' part.

@JagonApps I didn't really think about it much, I just thought I liked it the most given the brief time that I spent scanning the choices. Nothing scientific/professional. It's definitely not the best I've seen as far as mobile app company logos go, but yeah. My tastes might me different from yours or everyone else's :)

And yes I have to agree with everyone, the thin font used underneath Jagon will have to be changed.

Ok, thanks for all the feedback guys, much appreciated.
I have taken your suggestions and improved the logos, pls have a look if you can!
I numbered them so its easy to refer to!

    Hi @JagonApps

You asked for comments, etc., I'll give my own personal opinion and I hope you take them as me giving honest constructive criticism...

First to say, I think the word "apps" or "APPS" is far too small in all of them

1 & 2 I'm not fond of the large J in the background (I can't see the point of it); and if it was removed, I don't think the design would be that eye-catching.

3 I think the angled J following the slant of the A is a bit of an obvious graphical "trick" and so doesn't work for me (and anyway, the J is too large, in my opinion)

4 I quite like this one, the J on its side and white, making it look like a road... with "apps" made larger, it could offer something...

5 & 6 I really like the dots device, don't like the typeface (sort of reminds me of bones...); the first of the two, can't see the word "apps" hardly at all. Maybe consider adding the dots to no.4, see how it looks? (It might be too much, but worth a try...)

7 I like the simplicity of the circle and with a gradation, that works for me, but really don't like the typeface... it reminds me of staircase bannister posts...

8 I personally can't read this: the stylised A doesn't work so glancing at it, I read JN GON. I think the shadow tints confuse it even more.

9 & 10 If the word "APPS" was larger, as previously suggested, and especially if your future games are a cartoony or comic book style of graphics, you're on to a winner here, I'm thinking...

    OK, hope i've helped.

Whooops... yes, when referring to 9&10 I did mean the ones you made... :\">

Glad you found my suggestions helpful. :-) As for your updates, unfortunately I've just got the dreaded blue box question marks... and I can't see why they're not showing from your HTML.... hmm, the reason why not is probably right in front of my eyes... @-) :-?

Hmm..I can, I think it must refer to my hard drive, not dropbox, here is the direct link instead, as well as the other new ones that must not have come up:

Thanks, can see them now... do you know, the one that works well for me is the first one shown in the v2-update folder. It's clean and immediate, and to the point, without trying to be showy.

I still think the word "apps" is too small though, not suggesting you make it much bigger, just a couple of points more perhaps, and it'll be fine, I'm sure.... I like the letterspacing though, that's good to my eye.

Maybe also try your dots on this one as well, not only from the bottom right, but maybe see how it looks from top left. Might be too much, might not... Even some of the dots straying outside of the circle from the main clump inside, if you see what I mean, almost like particles, might work...

    OK, that's my thinking...

I don't think 'apps' is needed at all, the time when a logo needed a descriptive strap-line is long gone.

It's needed if wanted as part of a company name like here – "Jagon Apps" – which contains no part of a strap line. A strap line is "a subsidiary heading or caption...".

PS It's funny you've made one of @JagonApps logos massive, more than twice the size that he ever did, and used TinyPic... ;-)

"Stapline / Smapline" (done in a Woody Allen-esque NewYork Jewish accent) :) I am sure you're right, semantically, but regardless of the correct term you really don't really need the thing (call it what you want) that describes the function of the company embedded in the logo, it feels quite old fashioned, take a look at Sony and Microsoft and Youtube and Apple and Twitter . . . (rather than Sony Electronics™ and Microsoft Software™ and Youtube Video Hosting™ and Apple Computers and Twitter Social Media™).

I can't imagine a scenario where you might interact with the Jagon logo and need to know what the company does, the context of the logo will do that for you, if it's at the start of an app you are unlikely to think "I wonder if they do dry-cleaning?", if it's on a website promoting an app you are unlikely to think "I wonder, do they sell cutlery?" :)

iPhone is the brand name, personally I would have gone with iPhone-Smartphone™ ;)

Normally I would blame it on my IPhone-smartphone autocorrect, but I don't think it would be believable.

Back to logos, I like the last and 3rd last logos of your first post. I think they are great. Blue seems to take away from the excitement from them IMO,
