How long on average does it take Microsoft to approve an app for the store? I know every case is different but what's the average time, given no app errors.

I've had apps approved in a little over a day and some take 3-4 days. Generally the ones that took longer were submitted on a Friday or a weekend. I suppose that makes sense, but that's also when I have the most time to work on this stuff! :-)
did the win8 portal change in the last few weeks? I went to try and get the package name for an app, and the old path I used to take is gone.
Previously we could click on the dashboard, click Edit on the app, click on Advanced Features (Missing), click on Push Notifications and then click on Identifying your app. Is there a new way of doing this?
Is the $100 an app thing still going on? I submitted 3 apps together 10-14 days ago. I got 1 email about one of the apps being approved a week ago and then nothing. No news from other 2, or the code for the approved. I know it says it can take up to 10 business for the code days so I am not concerned with that one yet, but the other 2 are really original games that took me time to make and I am getting a little worried about them...would I get an email if they were rejected? (which they shouldn't...very unique games - not trash for cash..heh)
The $100 promo ends on June 30 so yes it is still going on. @MSEagle2 are you saying that after the app is live in the store THEN we have to wait for some code? And that my take another 10 days??? Oh geez I haven't even submitted my apps yet.
@MSEagle2 ok I looked at the entry form, they only ask for your Publisher Name, Publisher GUID, App Name and App URL. I don't see any where to enter a "code" you speak of, unless there are additional steps after this form is sent. Is that what you mean? As part of this promotion, do they have to send you a code for each "approved" app into this program?
At the bottom of the screen there is this statement:
"By registering you will receive a limited number of emails to facilitate your progress throughout the course of the program".
"Now, fill out the form below. You can get a $100 virtual Visa card for every qualified app you enter (up to $2000*). So don't stop with just one app! If you're eligible to receive the offer, we'll notify you by email".
"Offer good only to the first 10,000 qualified applications published in the Windows Store".
@sawkastee@MSEagle2 You're right. The Keep the Cash promotion is not displayed on your Dashboard. This is a marketing promotion separate from your app. As @jonmulcahy mentioned, you need only submit the form after your app is live. Right now you don't get a confirmation email which can be disconcerting, I know. You'll get an email in a couple of weeks with the Virtual Visa cards as the folks administering this promotion go through the entries.
@atxryan - Hey I submitted an app and got the reward code and then later added a few more games to the list. About a week ago I noticed I posted the wrong link for one of the apps and changed it to the correct one. I'm wondering if I should contact someone to make sure everything is fine. If so who can I contact? Thanks!
@Sawkastee - Actually for the cash reward code I received it took a month to get the email. There's a couple released games that I added to the "Keep The Cash" form 20 days ago and haven't got the reward codes for them yet. So, it may take much longer than 10 days.

@atxryan What number are we at for the 10,000; do you now?
@Crazybreadman so the reward code is to redeem the $100 Visa? Do we have to have the apps submitted, approved, listed in the store and our reward codes all back before the promotion ends on June 30 do we???

You will need to have the apps live on the store and then submit the App name and link on the "Keep the Cash" form before June 30. Then you'll probably get the code for the $100 Visa near the end of July (maybe sooner).
@HalfBakedProductions No, I don't have any line of sight into that. I'm sure the team running this promotion is having to go through a lot of last minute submissions. You will get an email soon that confirms your gift card.
Got emails for all my apps submitted into Win 8 store. They confirmed I'd be getting the Visa virtual cards in 25 days or so. Everyone else get their confirmations?

Maybe @atxryan can help explain it???

Sweet! I know there were some delays due to the rush of submissions at the end of June. I'm glad that they've caught up. :-)
