It's like the Swiss Army Knife of clocks! That's a shed load of options you got there! Good luck with it :)

Nice to see you finishing something! It's good to get the 'smaller' projects out of your head so there's more room for the bigger ones ;)

•Ouch!* ... but well said, QS; I'll take that one on the chin. :-)

Can't agree more; it's psychologically good, isn't it, so we don't have all the smaller projects nagging in the back of our minds; so get them out of the way first as they take less time... then we are able to concentrate on a major project or two more efficiently. :-)

    @gyroscope
Impressive clock with a tonne of controls... I like the idea of a fully customisable clock... the more options the better.

Now if you can just add a few more options (physics, user control setup, some custom scripting and a tonne of pre-imported art) you could create a GameSalad creator for the ipad. :-)

I 100% agree about doing the smaller projects, I've not finished a game in ages now and when I do finish another I'm going to have to relearn the steps for publishing...lots and lots of half baked ideas, lots of games have become templates.... I'm finally now settling into a new one... a big one that's possibly too big, but enjoying the challenge and its an idea that's been swimming around for so long it's good to finally be cracking on with it.

Good luck mate, with the clock, the other mini apps and the BIG ones..

P.S. Quick random thought... obviously we don't know how a-sync multiplayer is going to pan out, but perhaps in the future there might be ways to allow users to share alarms, calendar dates, etc... or not...

Thank you, Jon. :-) I'm still thinking of more controls but I might soon say enough now... (I was thinking about adding a kitchen sink tho'... ;-) )

Ha! I would if I had the ability! I'll leave that to @Manto1, I think! ;-)

"Relearn the steps in publishing": I'm exactly the same! It's not rocket science, we know but still has to be done logically...I'll always refer to the publishing tutorials every time...

Best of luck with your new project, Jon, not-so-big or big; the pre-requisite for any size game is enthusiasm, isn't it... that takes us a long way (time permitting)...

Good luck mate, with the clock, the other mini apps and the BIG ones..
Thanks again. I can't wait to get stuck in to a major project again after the smaller ones are out of the way....I'm going to try to do a bit of GSC most days again (mind you, I've said that before!) ;-)

Interesting idea; it'll be interesting to see how that does pan out.

    Thank you, @ConnellApps, appreciated. :-)

OK, I started this utility app back in March, thinking it'd take me a couple of weeks, a month at the most... then I started adding more features and so more work and more time needed.... then I put it aside for a month and a bit before carrying on a couple of weeks ago...

And I would never have guessed that the Timer section would be more complicated than even the feature-packed Clock section, but it was....

Still, enough to say, I've finally finished it. I'm off out in half an hour (to see a friend of mine's band play) so I'll be (finally) publishing it tomorrow. About time, I think... (if you excuse the pun). :-)

Then I'll update my website for this and my other app (Build the Earth Puzzle), before getting back on track with my other "mini" apps – which shouldn't be at all complex, and so be much, much quicker to "get out of the door"... (although I wait to see on that score...) ;-)

Anyhow, I'll let you know when Mega Clock Alarm Date & Timer Deluxe app is in the iTunes store if you're interested! :-)

Update: inevitably a few complications put me back 4 or 5 days, but the app has been Waiting for Review for 3/4 days now... hopefully won't be much longer. :-)

    @BazookaTime Cheers, BK, appreciated. :-)

Not long now, surely, before it's reviewed and ready for the store...

Good luck with the review process @gyroscope. My last update went in from waiting for review to review in about 5 minutes. Amazingly fast, if it hadn't been stuck in review for at least a week now >.<

Is it an iPad only app due to all of the features and options on screen?

Thanks, Kevin. I'm not expecting any problems but perhaps I'm being too optimistic... I wait to see!

Strange, isn't it - there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to the amoumnt of time it takes for review; although I guess it's just down to how many people there are reviewing apps in any one day, and where we are in the queue. (Or if they are bribed enough... only joking! :-) )

It's just for iPad, and you're right, with so many features and options it surely wouldn't work on an iPhone.... for interest, all my apps are/will be for the iPad with a few for the iPhone only... I might consider putting some of the apps on Android devices at a much later stage - with possibly some of them for the Mac too - when I've a decent portfolio of apps, I'll wait to see on that score. :-)

Update: Mega Clock Alarm Date & Timer Deluxe is finally In Review after waiting a week. Not too much longer now, hopefully.

Anyone claim to have waited the longest time for your app to be reviewed? :D

This app looks great, tons of options! Got a question for you, I'm building a clock in my app (not as complex as yours) and I can't figure out how to show a 12 hour clock. My military 24 hour clock works fine. Do you know how to display a 12 hour clock? Here's a thread I made about my issue it explains it better.

Thanks, guys. :-) And for those who haven't checked out the app in detail yet, I hope you like it as much when you do! ;-)

@sawkastee Check your thread, I've posted a solution for you – (as I explained there, it's untested but should work out as you want...)

    CONGRATS @gyroscope

Well done mate... I'll download it when I make my next cuppa tea... (ipad is charging near the kettle down stairs).

Congrats on finishing and publishing an app... I've not done that myself for donkeys... you finishing this spurs me on to carry on with my latest creation...

Now stop playing around with super customizable clock apps and make that adventure game....

Yes, cheers, Jon, so this is my 2nd published app now, the first was Build the Earth Puzzle (for those who don't know):
    https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/build-the-earth-puzzle/id501390758?mt=8

And I'm working on a third app - (but my 2nd "mini" app) - called Mega Conversion Calculators Deluxe:
    http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/61032/2nd-mini-app-mega-conversion-calculators-deluxe

I'm glad I've inspired you to carry on with your latest project, Jon; life get's in the way sometimes, doesn't it? Your stuff is consistently excellent; it'd be good to see something new from you too... :-)

I'm pleased that personally, despite saying I'm getting my act together now and then over a period of a year and a half or more, I finally seem to be doing that when it comes to GSC...

Now stop playing around with super customizable clock apps and make that adventure game....
Haha! Thanks for the encouragement there... I really want to get back to my adventure game but as I described in earlier posts in this thread and others, I'm getting the smaller apps out of the way first before embarking on anything major... so I seem to be on a roll, with the third app ready to publish in about a week's time, and a couple of others after that that'll take no more than a month....

So I'll stick to my guns but will eventually get down the list to carry on with Ancient Ones, Discovery... it's great you still remember it too! B-)

For those who don't know about my adventure game (started approx. 2 years ago now but then put on the back burner) here's the first progress vid. I made way back when:

If I can keep up the pace on GSC that I want to, I estimate I can get back to this particular major project in approx. 8 or 9 months time... but don't hold me to that... ;-)

Your adventure game is looking good. You should definitely stick with it!

I'd love to do an adventure game myself but don't have a story to work with. Nor the motivation :)

That's fair enough; I think you've hit the nail on the head: motivation... and if you're not interested in making a game in a certain game genre, then motivation would be low, wouldn't it...

Stick with making the types of games that you enjoy, I say! :-)
