Here is the knight that I have. If I posted him up it would be the same as the other character model, I could provide the vector file so that people could animate it as they wish. However this one does have a ready made attack sequence
Head shape Body shape Upper Arm Lower Arm Upper Leg Lower Leg Feet Hands
This way a person can pick and choose to create multiple characters from a single file set and pose the character for sprite animation.
It gets better for the designer though. You can design clothing packs. Different faces or face elements (eyes, nose, mouth, hair, ears) Hand positions (open, closed, fists, pointing, holding) Feet (big, small, clown, different shoes, toes)
The list goes on. Cartoon, bobble head, block, circular, platform, top down. Just basic segmented character elements that can be layered to create characters.
A single file could have character parts that are based on size. So if a person wanted to build a character that is 512x512 they can get that character build pack. Want a 64x64 bobble head character - get that build pack.
I'm pretty much borrowing this idea from HeroMachine. But those characters are static and you can't pose them.
.PNG files would be nice since that seems to be what GS advises to use.
Yes, I saw that thread right before I came to this thread.
The picture included showed full characters though.
I'm more or less talking about individual character pieces.
Head shape, then separate file for eyes, nose, mouth, hair.
This way I can select a head, select eyes, select mouth, select hair and if I want I can swap the head but still have everything else without having to redo/or modify hair.
Yes, the plan is (if the master pack sells well) to make lots of expansions for low prices, between $5-$10. The master pack offers a lot of re usability and for any designers out there, they can customize the work also, to make it more personable to them.
I'm just waiting for Gamesalad to email me the login details for the Marketplace and I will get it uploaded, the knight too if anyone would like that as well.
I would tweak him though, I would make the Sparten horse hair on top removable, maybe a couple of variations on the helmet and polish the design up a little. I'll hopefully get them uploaded soon
Bouncy ball type characters. Think "angry birds" type characters. I'm not using birds but cat's, dog's, pig's, cow's - pet's and barn yard.
Having a world of a time locating these without having to do heavy modifications to the features. If I had a circle that I could just add some eyes and mouth to, then some ears so it looked like a cat or dog - I would be in business.
The build I'm on I'm using animals. I have a concept for circular people with arms and legs, "pac-man with arms and legs".

@Taidaken That's close to what I would be what I would be looking for.
I went through the marketplace and saw characters but not the "split" characters like you have here. Then again I was looking for something specific.
But yes, that's very close to what I would be looking at getting as a base pack.
As a suggestion, if I may. And, I totally don't mean to be inconsiderate. Bear with me on this because it is a win-win and if I was better at art I would do this myself. You artists get more income, we non-artists get better characters which means better app sales, which means we need more character options for other projects.
Blank face and no helmet.
Why? So that a user can change up the warrior and pick the expression without moving the head. I just need to change the eyes, or mouth out.
Basic character pack - Two head designs - no face. Say three face (expressions) that can be swapped on the heads. Two arms (strong, weak), two hand positions (open, closed). The rest you already have.
Expansion pack - More head sizes, expressions, arm sizes, adornments, hair styles, foot positions, etc.
Again no offense to your work here. I just know what I'm looking for and how that can work to benefit both sides.
The two artpacks I will upload (the man character and the knight character) are all broken down into elements. Eyeballs, eye pupils, eye lids, nose, ears, lower face, upper face, back hair, fringe, side hair, its all separate so that you can create the impression of the face turning side to side. Then the body is broken down into separate elements in the same type of way. Everything is separate, even if it doesn't look like it, for example, the toes on the soldiers boots are on a separate layer, for foot movement during a run cycle. If you open the file up in Illustrator, flash or other vector programs, you can get into each individual element and customize it. Change colours, adjust the lines to change shapes. If these items sell well I will upload extension packs, with more hair, weapons, props, body types, noses, head shapes, etc.
In my pack I have AI, EPS, FLA, PDF and also I've provided a PSD file with the elements all separated as PNG layers, for those who don't use vector programs

That is what I'm in the progress of uploading to the market, see this thread

Looks like you have a winner there. That's something I would expect to bring in some business.
Price is a bit steep. But then again, the reusibility should overcome objections. Expansions I would keep low though.

Right now I am in the market for circular characters. Another project I have in the works (rebuild because of corrupted file) needs box characters.

Your assets are lonely without metadata
Please include your filled-out metadata.csv file with your assets and resubmit.
I've sent the file in two ways now.
One with all the assets zips along side the metadata file
Another with the assets in a folder and the metadata zipped together.
When it comes to sorting this file, I'm feeling like a right dumbass lol
