superNESsuperNES Member Posts: 166
Hey guys. We’ve been hard at work for the past couple of months getting our iPhone publishing system ready for you, and the wait is nearly over. In the next couple of weeks, we’ll begin rolling out changes to our site along with more information regarding the way the system works. All the information you’re probably asking yourself will be answered very soon. Until then we suggest you start doing what you can with your game(s) so that it will be ready soon after our publishing system is released.

    Very cool guys, can't wait. Have to finish my game now! Video is excellent. I think even after the iPhone capable release is out it might be a few days while I get the controls correct.

    How many people are close to having a game complete? I am coming close with 2 games, but still have a ways to go :)
  • quantumsheepquantumsheep Member Posts: 8,188
    Well, Bugz is practically finished, just needs a little TLC here and there...

    Teaser Trailer is here:

    And you can play the current version here: http://gamesalad.com/game/play/5948

    :)

    I've also got my top secret main game, which is bloody close to being done. I hadn't even started it till the end of August, so it's actually been a really fast development cycle ;)

    I've literally been spending every waking hour on this stuff. The joys of being made redundant! ;)

    Good luck everyone! This is what we've waited for, this is it boys, this is war etc

    darn I just spent my tears yesterday! Anyone know where I can find another unicorn to slay???

    How soon is soon?

    It could be....

    Soon = next 5 > 10 minutes

    Soon = A few weeks

    Soon = A few months

    Soon = A few years

    Sooner than later is the preferred option, Gendai just like to tease!

    Hoping the final pricing model and structure is just as accessible as the software, looking forward to the Big Game. I think this is going to explode in popularity when everyone realises they can make really decent iPhone games with this thing.
  • butterbeanbutterbean Member Posts: 4,315
    Agreed! So when will we be able to test our iphone games? When the publishing system comes out, or sooner?

    I'm guessing they are part of one package
  • TobyToby Member Posts: 478
    Maybe we could constrain this 'soon' game attribute to a timer behaviour! :)
  • JGary321JGary321 Member Posts: 1,246
    Gotta be able to test it on the iPhone before you publish it, otherwise you won't be able to test it properly, so I would assume the iPhone viewer gets released when Publishing goes live.

    So I assume this version will have multi touch enabled?

    I'm making a shooter game, and I must have multi touch for it to work.

    What about saving?
  • quantumsheepquantumsheep Member Posts: 8,188
    Don't count on the multi-touch - though I think we're all in agreement that that, and saving and high scores are sorely needed!

    Cheers,

    Shanesta you can still use the d-pad for now... although you would only be able to move & shoot. Nothing else.

    Cant wait my app is in development right know and i CANT WAIT , i have lots of questions but ill wait to see what u have to say! and just saying game salad is going to GET HUGE once its out!!
  • butterbeanbutterbean Member Posts: 4,315
    Yes, I am in dire need of multi-touch too before I can ever release my game :( High score too for the other game that is complete

    SNES, if you're reading this, when do you think we can expect to see a high score save and multi-touch pad with D-Pad and at least 2 buttons?

    I think I speak for many others when I say that it's almost essential to have 2 buttons in addition to the D-Pad at least upon release of the iphone launcher and tester....
  • quantumsheepquantumsheep Member Posts: 8,188
    I think the priority is to prove you can make games with GS and publish and sell them. That's a powerful statement right there!

    Fortunately you can always update your games on the app store. Thus, when high scores, saves etc come, we'll be able to put a new version on the app store.

    It's not ideal, I'd have loved to have them at launch, but you can still play the game, and it will show your customers you care about your games if you update them as and when new features are added to GS (if applicable).

    Still, I *do* agree with you Butterbean ;)

    I agree Quantum! :) There are a lot of games you can publish without those features, and for myself, I can publish at least one, and update it later when the high score save comes out, but with the D-Pad, I can't publish one of my bigger games without the extra button addition... here's to hoping it will come shortly after the iphone publisher is released! :)

    Well, I really need to be able to just do multitouch in general, I'm looking at doing a custom controle scheme like Alive4Ever, one themstick controls moveme and diection and the other controls shoothing and direction.
