"ABE" Development Thread

Hey everyone!
I've been away for a while busy with the TOTGB 5 contest/website, but I wanted to update the GS community on my work so far!
"ABE" or Amorphous Biological Entity is my entry into the contest and it's been met with some positive response from the TOTGB community. I've decided to see it through, after the contest, to publishing!
Here is the title screen along with some early gameplay footage!
(also, got some spell checking to do be fore release. :P )
Don't hesitate to leave some feedback. Always appreciated!

I wasn't sure how this would work when I came up with the idea, but as I worked on it it turned into this pretty awesome and fun game!
@uptimistik - Yeah, the graphics and animation have improved tremendously since I made the video here. I should have a final product ready in about 3-4 days. I'll post a better quality video showcasing everything for my final entry soon!

I still can't believe how fast I made this. Game Salad makes my day!
Here's the yoututbe video:

I still have a few graphical elements I'm not completely pleased with that I need to redo, but all in all I'm very happy with it.
I'll try to get this thing out then door in the next month or so.

I've never been terribly keen on my "about" page. I've decided to try and explain how to play the game without words. Just very minimal diagrams or icons. This may be tricky, but I think it will help solidify the feel of the game play; simple and clean.
So here is a list of changes and additional I would like to update going forward:
-New graphics for UI and Menus. In keeping with the science/experiments/tests theme I'm thinking the pause, about, and game over menus would be on a clip board. You know, something a scientist would maybe use to record results on the fly.
-As suggested by @EatingMyHat, a separate difficulty option that would do away with the "Pause while selecting form"; requiring the player my the changes with more precision.
-Better balloon physics. Right now It doesn't quite move like a real balloon. I need to toy around with the drag a bit.
-45 degree tiles for ricochet bounces.
-45 degree spring boards to launch the rock at an angle and give the ball a bit more oomph!
-A graviton field. When in the field, ABE experiences odd physics behaviors. His ball form does not move along the Y axis, only the X. The rock falls very slowly, as if under water. The balloon shoots up and out of the field at high speed.
-Spiked mashers that move up and down. They will ruin ABE's day.
I think with these additional game elements the possibility for level design would be drastically improved.
I'll post more update along with screen shots as I make these changes to keep the community up to date as I prepare this title for launch. After ABE's launch I will begin the completion of "Death Meadow" which I'm sure everyone will enjoy!
Thanks for all the support with ABE! And good luck to everyone in TOTGB 5
Words can't describe how cool I think this is! Great job my friend, keep it up! I see you and your games going far in the AppStore world...

@caseychourney - I'm actually planning on adding a 'real time' game mode. I like the freeze game form change simply because it gives the player a way to stop and think, on the other hand a 'real time' form change provides for a more challenging run. So, both will be included by the time I'm done. The harder one will just have he 3 form buttons so you can make changes faster.
Cheers

Trying to build 2 levels a day so I can be ready for Beta in a month.
My hat goes off to you @DeadlySeriousMedia! This is a very ingenious concept, and the idea goes nicely with it! awesome
Thanks everyone for the tremendous support! I'll keep everyone posted with any major changes or updates as I work towards Beta!
