Day 16 Still on the beach, still being hunted by the same dude. I got to admit, he tried every trick in the book to get me interested, showing off his skills. Most days it ended miserably, but from time to time he did managed to have a valid point.
Day 34 Five weeks and he is still around… I figured that the only way out of it was to have a look at what he wanted me to do. I even tried to convince myself that for sure it wasn’t that bad and I could get away with some basic art suggestions (“use red”). Again, I was wrong, what I saw was something like that…
@EatingMyHat & @Stamu - no way guys... I work with my pc and I don't need some fancy designer 'look at me I am a mac' statement... I just need speed, brute force and ugly design to keep me focused on outpixeling, outvectoring and outrendering any 'MacBoy'...
Isnt this surfer game was in one of the TOTB competitions? Or maybe a different challage? I'm quite sure i saw it before and liked it. If this is the game you are announcing it should be fun.

Day 35 I couldn’t sleep that night (he was under my windows all night asking “so how was it?”, “did you like it?”, “cool ha?”, “told you it is cool”, “call me?”, “I’m sure he liked it”).
Terrible as it was, something did click. I don’t know if it was the challenge, a mental breakdown or compassion for a lost soul (and hair) – but I decided to make a couple of images… and than a couple more, with a one or two additions; and a few hundred images later we finally had Wild Surf.
and in order to satisfy the request for some 'more babes on the beach':
[and many more comics in Wild Surf (appearing in the appstore soon)]
everytime I see something you've created I'm like 'damn I wish I had even a bit of that talent' .... I can follow your tutorials as I can find my way around illustrator and photoshop ... ie: I can copy .... it's the original vision part that separates the real artist (you) from the wanna-be (me). Best I can hope for is to mash-up a bunch of parts and call that 'original'. Anyway enjoying the journey ... and your return to the forum.
@UtopianGames - thanks, mate... Yes... we tried to make it well rounded and polish it to the max... and it plays nicely imho
@simo103 - It's a matter of mastering the technical aspect and then taking that to do your own style with it. Keep practicing and looking at art you like and copy the bits you like - usually that helps understand how they achieved their effects and appeal. That makes the next step a lot easier and you will have a wealth of styles, ideas and techniques to fall back on. Good luck on the journey and thanks... it's good to be back...
I hope you liked Sprite background story (loosely based on a true story, very loosely), I guess he just had to let some steam out after I drove him nuts for the last 3 months. However, in my defense I must say that he brought it on himself...
Wild Surf is in Apple hands (some people thought the day will never come). and so we wait...
Yes that game would have won if had sound it was my personal fav!
@FryingBaconStudios I remember you liked it, I hope you will like what became of it
I'm enjoying the comics!
@tatiang the game is dotted with more comic involving more characters. We kept the Sprite and Me comic to the forum, but the last one is from the in-game collection (staring one of our favorite surfers, Pam UnderSun)
@Stamu - thanks... I can't wait to see the surfers 'out in the wild'
@EatingMyHat - true... I turned the game from a 'small art' project into a massive 'blowout' but I just had too much fun doing it... and there is already a new list of characters waiting for an appearance as surfing legends...

Charge $10 per pixel with a min of a 50x50 pixel picture. That size gets you 25,000 dollars...

Many many thanks to @tshirtbooth, @UtopianGames and @P-O-M for providing us with valuable feedback during the process.

Good luck with the game. Hopefully Apple will approve it shortly.
