First screens of SZC

Hey everyone!

here are come screens to Monster Robot's next title "SZC"
I'll be posting video of gameplay shortly.
the game is basically if you mixed metroid & mega man then added zombies.
all feedback appreciated :)

    Well done on the promo! Reminds me of my childhood playing Metroid. There's no way a game could top it, but this may come close :)

    Thanks Henry! nah, I'll never top Super Metriod, I'm just hoping to bring something similar to the iphone :)

    Looking good Ash! You're a man after my own heart. I plan to do something similar at some point. Are you using physics? Just curious, your main character seems to navigate its jumps pretty well. I had to do a lot of tricks with Run, Jump, Kill! to avoid using physics for performance reasons, while still allowing my hero to jump freely along walls and stuff.

    Either way, keep going! I'm looking forward to playing this!

    Hey everyone!
    Thanks for the feedback!
    @Tom getting a jump right is really hard! I ended up giving the payer gravity that pulls him down, but when jump is pressed a timer constrains the Y velocity to 120 or 140 or what ever speed I picked, then the timer runs out and gravity pulls him back down :)

    here are some new screens! should have another video up soon, and hopping to release Chapter 1 in the next week or two

    This game reminds me metriod in snes. So far so good, i really like the dash. however you might want work on the main character sprite animation; like add more actions and make him holding the gun?

    This guy is a nod to the resident evil 4 merchant :) if you find him in in the game you can buy upgrades for your weapons

    Nice work, only thing I'd change is the icon. There are a LOAD of zombie games on the app store so I would use your robo-dude as the icon to separate you from the rest.

    Looks fantastic! The production values are more than just a cut above most projects I see around here, you clearly put a lot of effort and heart into this. I really like the art style and the little touches, like how the bullet casings fall to the ground as you fire. Keep up the awesome work and be sure to let us know when it goes live!

    The menu screen, on this screen you can arrange which weapons are on your drop down weapon box on the play screen, kind of like the good old zelda weapon/item system

    Loving it man. I can tell that a lot of work has gone into this and I wish you all the best in it.
    I think the controls look a little confusing at times with jumping and shooting in the same section.

    A lot of coding in this game and it looks so far so good. Yea, the only problem is the texture. Looks like you just cut it from the photo and stretch it to fit up the graphic for the game.

    This is looking really good. It's nice to see games with a lot of love and polish going into them. The little things really count, and you've got them. My only concern is that the interface (both HUD and pause) can get a little too intrusive and a bit too one noted in color. And as ace said, icon shouldn't be zombie. Show off the sci fi in the icon. Everything else is looking really damn good.
