@QS: If I want to see the ending, I need to play through each level consecutively without losing right? Are there different endings based on easy, medium, and hard mode, or are they the same? I already played through the entire game, but I'll try again tonight to get the endings
SingleSparq said: Any reason the world starts with 15000 unhappiness? is the world really that sad? Thought I was doing something wrong at first!
Each difficulty level starts the world off with a base level of sadness, yes! It helps add challenge on harder difficulties. Also, if it started at 0, then all someone would have to do to beat a level is shoot one cloud and then do nothing else and just let the game play itself!

The endings are ostensibly the same - but the little girl will say something different depending on how well you've performed.
You get ranked A-D - based on the average of your level scores compared to the total sadness.
If you get to the end level scraping through a win from each level, you'll likely get a 'D'. If you get over a certain amount, then a 'C', 'B' and coveted 'A' rank will be awarded.
Things that affect your score: Sun level (maximum 10) Score multiplier in each level Difficulty you're playing on Types of cloud (smaller clouds are harder to hit, but worth more points - they also increase your score multiplier faster as you only need one shot to kill them)
Hope that helps, and thanks to everyone that tried the game!

QS, great work! I bought the game, and it is just amazing! I have one suggestion though. I beat world 1, but I cannot beat world 2. Maybe make it a little easier?Just something to consider.
Just a quick note to point out another Sunshine review by the guys over at Macgasm.com!
Again, they seem to like it, which is lovely!
Here's a snippet:
"Where Sunshine really shines is with its charm. The cheerful main character is guaranteed to make you smile. Its cartoon visuals are painfully cute and if you’re not beaming by the time you finish, you’re officially dead inside. Hear Us? Dead. Inside. From the silly collectable hats the sun wears (you’ve seen everything when you’ve seen the sun wearing a fez), to the game’s uplifting soundtrack, Sunshine has a fun factor of 30."
In a (probably vain) effort to make some sense of what we laughingly call 'British Summertime' the iPhone version of Sunshine will be free from today till Midnight on Sunday!
Missed this one first time around. Excellent game - simple and brilliant! The soundtrack is so damn good too!
What are you working on at the moment QS?
Thank you for the kind words!
I've been working on 3 games:
Captain Obvious with Kipper and HoneyTribe (started at a Game Jam in London) Air Supply SOS - hopefully done soon! *fingers toes and eyes crossed* ProjectSAMMY - an adventure game which has kinda spiralled into being a concept album of a game :O
Air Supply SOS will hopefully be finished this month with any luck. So look out for that in November
I can see blue skies out the window btw - maybe this is working???
Would you mind sharing some sales numbers with us? I remember when you worked on this one. Would be interesting to see if it was worth it. Weather here (USA-New Jersey) is fantastic. A bit hot today. Probably reaching 100 today. I know a bit about rainy weather coming from Northern Germany. I moved. Good Luck with all your future projects.
I had this on my iPad and I'm sorry to say that it is 1000 times better than the iPhone version. The big screen really makes the difference in this game.
However this is a really great game and I spent many hours with it just to try to get all the hats

Heh - thanks!
You'll be surprised to know that I disagree with you about it being 1000 times better - I'm always conscious of how the game plays on different platforms - for example, .Matrixx does not have an iPhone version as the screen really *would* be too small to play it properly!
I do agree it's nicer to play on the iPad - but you could say that about most iPhone games on an iPad, no?
Comments
It's also my highest scoring game from them! Gravitrixx got a 3 I think, and Air Supply managed a 3.5
I am very very chuffed!
And then... AND THEN!!! There's this review from Arcadelife:
http://arcadelife.wordpress.com/2011/11/10/sunshine-here-comes-the-sun-review-ipodiphone-ipad/
As always, it's an awesome read! I love that he lifted the 10 word review portion directly from the game description.
And I want "A glowing red sun is the ultimate smart bomb" on a tshirt!
It's been an awesome day. Just hearing nice things about this game that's been ongoing for over 2 years makes it all seem worthwhile!
Thank you, everyone! I'm tired, but happy

so deserved
Well, Sunshine for Mac has been submitted to Apple. No idea how long it takes to get reviewed and stuff, but looking forward to it.
I'm also in the middle of writing a Sunshine Children's book. Will be uploading to iBooks and Amazon when it's done!
Fun, fun times

Who knows? If lots of people download the game, the Sun might come out to play!
