Critical bar steward! ha. Fair play, yes i have some testers i'll be using and i may well need the extra, especially if you're the Simon Cowell amongst us. ha. I'll give you a shout once ready Cheers
@scitunes Cheers. Hey can you add the new vid to the first post?
@LiquidGameworks - a combination of swiping and on screen buttons.
Buttons: left, right, jump, attack. Hold attack triggers speed boost. Double or triple tap for different moves. Double or triple tap jump for higher jumps. Swipe will be for special moves and swipe down to jump down a platform.
@LiquidGamesworks - Yeah, good controls are the starting point of any decent game. So as I've been building it I've been concsious of making sure it all feels right. So with this platform/action level there's loads of freedom of movement. We want the player to feel agile, powerful and ninja-like. So I made sure the controls are responsive and work as you'd expect them to.
@Clock - Well we've written the story. But we haven't yet decided how many levels we need to build to tell the story.
Open ended world? On an iphone... No the player will progress through the story one stage at a time. We'll prob make an endless mode too for peeps who like high scoring too.
Yeah, Ao will have a range of special moves that you acquire as you progress through the game and encounter the world's inhabitants.
That boss is scary looking. Kinda looks like a uterus lol. Is she fighting pms?
Looks gorgeous tho. Has a nastolgic feel to it thanks to the frame by frame animation. For some strange reason it reminds me of "shadow of the beast". Can't wait to try this one out.
@3xL - Yeah every now and then I like watching youtube vids of old amiga/c64 games. I'm sure that era of games/game music has left a permanent influence on me. Shadow of the Beast still looks and sounds good even today. (And it's still bloody hard!)
@beefy_clyro - Well so far we haven't given set the goal posts for release date. We've just been making mini deadlines for each stage of development. Now we've got our two main gameplay types built we'll have to decide how big we want to make the game.
I'm inclined to go in the direction of... epic!
@ozboybrian - That could be an idea. Do you mean just when she dies or every time she lands from a jump?
@gyroscope - Cheers David Yeah we're feeling good about this game. By the time it's finished and polished we'd like to think it will stand shoulder to shoulder with any iOS game from the bigger developers. Also still waiting to beta test your upcoming release...

I think it has a great chance of competing fairly and squarely with the bigger developers. :-)
As for my iPad app - End of the Earth - sorry I didn't keep you updated: I decided that beta testing would just be myself (and the wife!) as it is a relatively straightforward game. The binary is uploaded and it's status is Waiting for Review: it was uploaded Sunday night, so I expect to hear shortly...
As you were one of the two people who kindly offered to beta test for me, I'd like to send you a promotional code for the finished app, if you like. :-)
@gyroscope - Ok fair enough on the testing. I didn't put you off with the threat of unadulterated bluntness did I? And thanks for the promo code offer. I'll also have my first iPad app up soon as Honey Tribe iPad goes on the store next thursday. Funny how the exact same game can feel so much nicer on the bigger screen.

Well, I didn't like to mention, but yes, it was.... not really! :-)
You're welcome Shaz, re: the promo code; I'll email it as soon as I've got them.
I've never gone from an iPhone app up to the iPad but I'm certain it's satisfying! With this iPhone app i'm developing, being used to doing my projects for the iPad, it feels a little like designing through a letterbox! But I'm getting used to it.
What's also nice is when your iPad game file on the Mac preview tightens up and looks all nice and shiny on the device!
Glad everyone seems to be digging the new video! now that weve got the core gameplay elements working, well be starting to piece it together into a ...game! Anyone see anything missing or anything that could be a bit better with this new gameplay mode? Thanks guys!

@ozboybrian - Yeah little details like that will add to the overall experience, I'll suggest it to Ryan (the artist).
