@FMG: Really? Your's and Eastbound's games are both awesome...I would have thought you had sales like East's or even better since it is a bit more unique. I think having keywords similar to another popular game may be helping East out a bit.
I have similar keywords as well, but being featured by Apple is what did it for me. I only had a few sales each day for the first month. It's not easy being under 15,000+ games and trying to get seen!
And keywords are important, but to be honest, I don't search for things in the app store that way, and I don't know anybody who does. I, like most people I assume, just look at the top 100 games.
I would only use keyword search if I already knew the game, but forgot its name. Something like: "I knew the title had something to do with dragons..."
I noticed the other day his game has hit #555 in the top 1,000 apps in the U.S!! Congrats! He even surpassed games like Rayman's Rabbids, and others I've seen like Spikey by Donut games, great job~!
@Toby: Sales have been really good! Not mind-blowing by any means, but great for my first game! I have just under 2000 downloads. Last week I was featured in the "Hot New Games" section on the iPhone, and currently I am still in the "What's Hot" section of the iTunes App Store, under Games. I made it up to 37 in the Games/Puzzle section and 45 in the Games/Family section. Which is ridiculously amazing considering that there are 15,000+ games in the App Store.
I am also currently #1 in Games/Puzzle in Moldova which I am pretty proud of!
Since being featured last week, I am dropping down in the charts pretty rapidly. I am now in the 70's for both of my categories. I am sure that I will be out of the top 100 altogether in the next few days, and sales will drop back to a few a day - how it was before I got featured.
I also noticed a jump in sales when I raised the price from $.99 to $1.99, who knew?
I am going to add a splash screen to Danger Cats! as well as overhaul the screenshots. Maybe that will help. And Macworld is coming up, so maybe there will be a boost there.
Also, I have 99% great reviews, so that has to help!
Stunt Squirrels is currently "In Review". Hopefully having more games will help out as well, as they can cross-sell each other.
BUT/// can you keep all of us somewhat aware of what this action does to sales. I guess we all hope to make the top with apple but I have heard from some that the results of being featured was not as good as expected. In your case I am sure it will zoom, but we get very little data from anyone so it would be great if you could keep us in mind for some general ideas on the results.
vegasmike1, this is an old thread, i dont think joe is featured anymore. My new game 'Buzz Buzz Bang' is featured at the moment and sales arent exactly anything to quit my day job for. ha. Still, any exposure is better than no exposure right
Yeah, this was back in December. My sales went from 2-3 a day to 250 a day. So certainly a big bump. Apple changed their featuring recently and added new featutes to each individual section. I dont think they have the same impact as being featured on the main site.

Cats Stats
Time 2:14:43
Levels 80
Cats Lost 422
I'm going to go through it again soon and see if I can beat those stats. Level 77 was so hard it took me about 20 attempts.
I'm interested to know how your sales have been doing! (again )
Joe does great work!

Oh this old game?
Currently it's at about 5500 downloads...
I might drop it down to .99$ at some point. See if that gives it a boost.
