I think this is a bit in poor taste, but I'm not going to overreact and pretend like some topics are taboo. I firmly believe that no topic is taboo, and provocative things are good, if done right. Would I make this game? No, but I wouldn't stop someone from doing it either.

However, being that Apple is pretty heavy handed with these type of things, I highly doubt this will get approved as is.

I think this execution is half-assed (pardon the language) and is really meant to profiteer on the disaster. If you're going to be provocative and controversial, you have to commit to that and make it worth it. You've only gone half way here, you've picked a really taboo subject, but didn't do anything of merit with it.

This game has rejection written all over it

    8.6

Google Maps and Google Earth images obtained via the Google Maps API can be used within an application if all brand features of the original content remain unaltered and fully visible. Apps that cover up or modify the Google logo or copyright holders identification will be rejected

And that's the only thing wrong with it? Lol

i suppose if all proceeds went to the appeal it might have been bearable but thousands of people are dead and dying and more could be effected and you want to make a quick buck off it.

The Ash cloud game was topical and no one was hurt, this is just a bit dark...

Ok, I live in Japan, the chaos is here... the ground still shaking, sometimes 15 times a day!
We can`t even eat vegetables and fruits from our crops as it is contaminated.
Everybody is worried about Fukushima plant. Some don`t even get out home afraid of radiation.
People died and a lot are missing. You really got a bad idea...
You can wait 20 years or more, nobody will forget what happened, why do you think nobody made a game about Chernobyl?

Well, they did make a game about Chernobyl (a few actually), even if it is fictional.

Hopefully things at Fukushima get resolved soon and the after shocks stop. Hopefully our donation money is actually making it out to you guys and doing some good.

There you have it. If you have any integrity, you will scrap this project. It doesn't matter which way you try to justify the subject matter.

According to Cheapy D who lives in Tokyo they were hardly affected except from a few shaking buildings. I Take it Tokuhara you are closer to the epicentre?

Yeah wow - and these reactions are from people who are really supportive of other GS developers. Imagine what everyone else will think! Imagine the damage to your reputation. Imagine the impact on your other apps.

this is a tasteless choice of game theme! many will be offended by this if you complete it.

I'll be blunt and say the following:

This is pure sh!t man, and I'm being overly kind by saying so. There is NO QUESTION AT ALL that this is is TERRIBLY BAD TASTE! But, if controversy is your thing and you don't have an ounce of decency or compassion then you won't give a crap and release it anyway. If you are truly a human being of some worth and substance you'll forget this whole thing and spend your efforts on producing something worthwhile.

It's your call buddy, I just hope you don't paint all us GSers in a negative light at the end of it all...

I am closer, about 180km from the epicenter (Miyagi) and 130km from Fukushima Plant. On a windy/rainy day the government said that you better use mask and only drink bottled water as the radiation goes up here.
About the Chernobyl game I mean a game like the other member did, where you have to cool down the reactor with a firetruck...

Please don't send this in to apple. If you're going to make a game about the disaster in Japan, it had better have all profits go to Japan, and should be something like this: you as a member of the Red Cross bringing supplies to victims of the tsunami. And I wouldn't even do something like that unless you were actually working for the red cross and if it was made completely to inform people about the issues (filled with facts). Doing something like what you're planning will only offend people, as is clear from this community's response. If you need more convincing, look over this article: http://www.patspapers.com/story_stack/item/new_comic_eerily_similar_to_japan_disaster/
