I wish some other software companies would "Dare to Share" ;-)> and price their software at an afordable level. (Should ANYthing really be more than $100? It's a disc and a book in a box.)
I'm trying to teach a computer class with mainly open source software, but it really is not easy.
How do I explain to the kids - we can't afford Adobe?
(Yes, we might get into GS at some point!)
No theres no modeler here. But theres plenty of free ones. Messiah's animation tools are (some says) better that the ones you find in Maya. I don't see how any one can pass on a deal like this.
I remember that project when it went live (used to buy 3D World) and yes, the animation work flow is top notch. It wasn't until MotionBuilder surfaced that the news shifted but just look at the list of movies which used PM! Impressive
Anyway ... the graph is moving in "our" direction .... i a few days we all know more. I can't wait to render out characters with H A I R ! (but not as long as dhondon's)
@ Franz, I doubt that we see much of those "deals" from others because Autodesk holds all the (important) cards so there is only MAXON, Lightwave, 3D Coat and ZBrush ... It is VERY competitive but with Autodesk buying up the competition, a price war is unlikely
Houdini (sidefx.com) already has a $99 student license for "starving artists" which should be useful to you and your school?
I checked last night around 10 pm (Pacific Time) and it said two hours left.
This means that they extended the sale ... plus, as most companies these days, they are now scrambling to fill the orders because this was probably just and experiment that could have gone ether way ...
After not being able to install the software, I've searched and found a forum that was FULL of complaints regarding the Mac version.
I then wrote an email to the contact address listed at the main project messiah site and within minutes, they've refunded me the full amount via pay pal. I'll leave it at that!

They say by Saturday we'll get our license?
THANKS "dhondon" for posting that the other day. This was a GREAT find!
It's been a while since I was able to render hair and fur so I really look forward to creating new artwork for my apps!
If PM5 works as well as 3.5 did back then, I'm happy. I can't believe I am getting all my old toys back. YAY!
EDIT: got mine now:)
I would rather get the approval email from apple but the PM license will make me happy too :-)
Also, I'm sure that you ordered before I did ... I look forward to creating a little composer mascot kid with it!
IS the "client ID" my email address?
I hate stupid companies!
How do you copy the license key over to the browser?
Ive tried very combination (win and os x), no go
even right clicking does not copy it!
