Can we have a video?
Darren.
If you put a vid on YouTube, you might get away with using 'Hip to be Square' by Huey Lewis and the News
Youtube's a bit of a minefiled though with using music - some copyright owners will remove the soundtrack to your vid, others don't mind as long as they can put an iTunes link to the track used.
Look forward to it though - it might be an idea to make a 'real world' one, where the 'touch to play' mechanic would be better shown.
If you send me an email, I'll be glad to send you a promo code. This and toucharcade forums made me realize that trolls exist outside of fairytales and bridges and what not.

Sorry for a short response, this is from my iPhone and the lecture is starting x]
if your game evokes emotion and triggers some kind of reaction then the graphics dont matter as much, but I am not sure adding in a bit of spice in the graphics would slow the game down, not everyone has a rev 1 slower than snot cant hold a call iphone, dload the viewer and check it out with some graphics, I think you will see that it is not that big of a drain on the system. Make it for the IPAD it has enough guts to do some cool stuff with no FPS lag.
Yeah, alright, this is a darn nice game. I have to agree that it could definitely ratchet up a notch with some graphics work.
There are many game made with GS and high level graphics that run smooth as silk. I'm just afraid people will stop at the screen shots and not buy this because it just doesn't grab you. I don't think it would take much at all to re-skin your actors and I honestly think it would help your sales potential.
This might be a little unfair comparison, but the Game Dark Nebula has slightly similar sort of actions (for the most part, moving a single actor across a background) and this is what you are competing against in the app store:
Even if you don't use image graphics, I think you could adjust your color palette a bit to be a little less all over the place... a simpler color palette could enhance the game alone. Adobe makes a really nice online color palette generator that could be very helpful: http://kuler.adobe.com
Just a little honest feedback, I do think it's a fine game! Best of luck, I dropped a review.
Of all the posts I've gotten about a graphics update, I think yours has had the biggest impact. If not for the sole purpose of sales, than for the competition. If there's one thing I can't resist, it's a competition
Expect a graphics update..... sometime :] Gotta study so I don't fail college x]

You really don't want to listen to me.
But...
I got Dark Nebula episode 1 for free.
I played it for three minutes. Then I just stopped. I really didn't like it, though I thought it looked very nice.
I've played your game for five times that amount at least. It's more fun.

What am I trying to say! I don't know!
Like I said, don't listen to me!!!

You flatter me, sir :]
Trust me, if it slows down the gameplay, I'll scrap the graphics. If not, then why not give it some polish?
Either way, gameplay > greater in the long run. We'll see the results in a week or two. I'm planning on adding a couple more levels, some secret stages, and a lite version of the game. If a graphics update doesn't come with, it's most likely because it slowed the game down :]
Thank yo all again for the compliments, you guys make this forum a great environment!!!
You need something to make your game stand out! How on earth do you think you will stand out from 250,000 other apps? The gameplay isnt going to help you with no downloads.
ToastKitten said: Honestly, I want to put graphics in at one point. But with the current state GameSalad is in, it's near flipping impossible to have a smooth running game with nice graphics. I do care about sales, but I'm not going to put a laggy game on iTunes just because I want them. User experience is the most important aspect of the game. From what has been said from everyone so far, they thought that the game was addicting. Those responses validate what I am doing, not the money.

Haha, I also got Dark Nebula when it was free (I think someone here posted a notice) and have only played it a few minutes. It did get boring rather quickly for me too.

May I ask, how you did the invert gravity thing?
Oh, and email sent.

I say you need both, great gameplay and good looking graphics to make it, otherwise you will be buried in less than a week.
Your app is not even in the top 1000 of any category, in other words its already dead: http://www.appannie.com/dont-let-go-a-platformer/
Now look at where the competition stood in its first week:
