Working with ladders

Does anyone have any experience adding ladders to a platformer? If so, could I ask you a few questions about how you implemented it?

I'm having a tough time getting the actor to jump off the ladder... since even when you jump, you're still overlapping, so it thinks your back on the ladder.

    I can't post the link for you, but if you Google GameSalad ladders you should get some results for a few templates.

    Its more tricky than you think because you need jump/fall off ladder, know when your at the top and bottom of the ladder, jump onto a ladder etc etc.

    I know... I actually have your template and that's what I based my code on... but jumping from one ladder to another ladder seems to be even MORE complex.
