Today is National Video Games Day in the US and I thought it would be a fun excuse for sharing.
Reply with the video game or moment that made you want to build your own video game!
For me it wasn't a single game but the combination of a number of side scrolling shooters and the Robotech franchise.
I wanted to make a video game based on Robotech and have a few pages of level design scribbled in a spiral notebook somewhere.
This was before the days of the internet, emulators and ROMs, where I would have learned about the existence of a number of existing Macross video games.

Happy Video Games Day GS community! For me, the game that started it all was Chrono Trigger SNES...played it at a friend's house when I was younger and something about it awoke the inner game developer in me.
