GS on the big screen!
Hi guys,
Just wanted to share something I made in GS this year.
It allows kids to generate 'biological PPE' onto giant mechanical Australian animal faces, and mix and match these fantasy PPE bits. The theme is the Australian 2020 bushfires and designing help for native animals in bushfires. It uses 6 ceiling mounted sensors to capture children standing on particular floor points (the coloured circles), which drives the interaction. Each floor point summons a different 'mask' onto the screen. When they do, the fire in the background gets blown out.
Running in HOTA Children's Gallery all day everyday for the next 6 months on Mac mini, so I needed it to be simple. The sensors connect back to a keyboard encoder which simply interpolates the alpha of certain animated layers on and off on key press, and plays sound/turns off the fire particles on the same key presses, etc. It's made from two separate files across two mini computers, rather than stretching one display. The fire effect is made from an old one from DBA fire effects (shown in the last pic)! Some of the images are used under a CC licence, or are in the public domain, and have been manipulated and painted over in photoshop to give everything the same look.

This is awesome. Is there video anywhere or a website about this. I'd love to share this via social media!

Looking great!
Hey @adent42 sorry for the very slow response. So far this is the official website for it but it doesn't say much: https://hota.com.au/gallery/world-upside-down/
When I get a chance to update my own website I'll let you know! I just received some official images of the work yesterday as well so that should be good.
Out of interest, where can one find GS's social media accounts?
Yes? @Lokitoes?
