What's the best way to record game play for a trailer?

I've tried recording gameplay by screenshotting video directly on my phone using the gamesalad viewer app. But when I look at the footage, it seems a bit pixelated. any tips or tricks to catch better video quality?

I usually play the game in the editor on my Mac and record the screen using ScreenFlow.

Try to compile the game in a mac app (you can't need to sign it) after download the game in your desktop and launch it in fullscreen so use ScreenFlow to record the gameplay.
