Can't sign my app, zipalign issue

Ha anyone ever had this; since yesterday when I try to zipalign my app using CMD I an 'access is denied' error along with a window saying 'this app can't run on your PC'

I'm pulling my hair out as internet searches are not helping and Google are not responding as of yet.

Very frustrating as I need to update one of my my apps due to a recent bug that I've found

    I updated my Android build tools to 30.0.1. Now I can zipalign with no problem but when I try and sign the .

    apk I get this error.

    Any ideas @adent42 ?

    Just in case anyone ends up down the same rabbit hole as me I just fixed my issues, here is how.

    My zipalign tool was showing as 0kb so I downloaded it again from Android studio. I downloaded the latest build tools, 30.0.1. Don't do this as it will throw an error. So I re-downloaded build tools for 29.0.3 and this worked. I also updated Java in the process although I don't think that was the issue, just throwing it in to say the latest version of Java does not seem to break anything.


    I really hate app signing 😣!
