Signing APK files do i have to if making game for someone

in iPhone and Android Publishing

Hello, if I am making games for people and publishing it as Android, I don't want to sign the APK file myself as the person Im making the game for will upload it to their google play store account themselves, I want them to sign the APK file themselves. But I don't want them to have to buy gamesalad in order for them to sign the APK file, Can they sign it somewhere else maybe through like Android Studio? or do you have to sign the APK file using Gamesalad as that is the program i made the game?
