Mac Directional Key Response Issue

Ok, I'm a COMPLETE NOOB at doing this and am taking the instructional course to get the basics down, however, even after going through it step by step, when going into preview mode to test the directional key function, the actor/player goes straight upwards and off the screen. I have deleted all of the rules and behaviours, even started over completely but this still seems to happen. I don't know if I'm missing something here or if this is a known issue, but any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    What we need to be able to help you is to see your rules. Just saying that the directional key function isn't working doesn't give us anything to go on. It can be frustrating trying to narrow down the cause of a problem but if you post a screenshot we should be able to figure out what is wrong.
