Finally completed yet another wild idea I had *phew*

I hope that this adds to the contribution that GS makes to the App Store, with an app concept that I'm pretty sure isn't done yet out of the hundreds and thousands of apps already in the store. It can be done!

Here's the metadata proper and fingers crossed for the submission that I'm doing now ^_^

Never get lost again when playing your favorite MUD/ MUCK / MUSH / MUX / MOO games with Elly the Wanderer's Mapmaker for MUDs!

If you find yourself frequently lost in a sea of text and missing important locations in your games, or just running around in circles, then what you need is a MUD cartographer like Elly!

With a few simple steps and taps, you will be crafting beautiful maps on your magical device. Go forth and explore with confidence!

( Elly recommends visiting the Cities of M'Dhoria, which has more than 6000 rooms carefully crafted for a wonderful MUD experience - http://www.mdhoria.net )

For those that would like to try it on their Macs, here's a link to the version compiled for OSX.

    Oh! RIGHT!

    It's a map maker!

Will work well on an iDevice as you can use two fingers - one to move the character, the other to tap the tile!

    Nice one!

    ^_^

It would probably make more sense for people who are still into text MUDs (multi-user dungeons etc) long before the graphical MMORPGs came about. I actually still play one (the above-mentioned Cities of M'Dhoria).

It may not be quite everyone's cup of tea, but for those who still do it, I'm hoping this fills a niche need of theirs.

It is also a component of an engine that I'm building for Wishstone Saga, so it's all a journey for me. ^_^

Yes! A toast to wild ideas in the shower that can be built rapidly with GS! ^_^

Now, onto my next one... an actual game this time, but one that I believe uses the iPad in a manner that might not yet be popular (or even done at all, for now). My time starts... next week! A much needed weekend break for me now...

I downloaded this before, I just was confused on how to use it heh. I think I am going to give it a go again. I play DragonRealms which has been around for ages :P. I grew up playing MUDs so they have a special place in my heart. I think this is awesome and will do very hell with the MUD community.

Good luck on the sales and let me know how it goes if you don't mind :). I am curious how the MUD community is on the iphone. If it is quite good I wouldn't mind giving a go for some apps for my MUD :).

    Anyhow, good luck.

Thanks! And I'll plug in the stats in this thread for those that might be interested. The really cool thing about GameSalad is that it allows one to make stuff quite easily and quickly.

There are limitations, of course. Like how I have to get a person to use the screenshot method to save a map rather than a button that will allow local saving of maps etc. Make the best of what we have! ^_^

I got my first review!! And it's 4 stars ^___^

    Much Better than Graph Paper

    by cjoshuav
All old-school gamers know what it's like to have our keyboards hidden by the piles of graph paper we used to map our way around the dungeons of games like Zork, Bard's Tale, and Wizardry. This app provides an elegant, quick, easy alternative. Every lover of text-based adventures, western RPG's, and MUD's should get it immediately.

The app only lacks the following:

    - The ability to save maps.

    - The ability to export/email apps.

    - The ability to add levels to maps.

*sigh* I guess this is where I bump my head against the wall and moan about GS' limitations. For that 1 more star! ^_^
