I remember how this first started and the quality now is just superb!!! Love the parallax and the smooth animation. The new art work is just great. Cant wait to see more.
@BigDave Thanks for the detailed feedback ! I agree with both the purple guy and the chest icon , ill probably change them except for the grumpy shroom. The thing is im not an artist , i just keep drawing from reference couple of times until i get the feel of it. Enemy sprites are really hard to draw and the only thing left for me to make,iv been struggling with it the past 3 days, probably 15 enemies would be enough for 3 worlds , so ill try my best with it. I have a story in my mind but i don't really know how or where to contact voice actors , and its hard for me to write a dialogue or script in english so ill leave this to the end. Thanks again for the feedback appreciate it !
@fmakawa Thanks im glad you like it and appreciate the kind words !
私はこれが好き I like this
Fiverr has quite a lot of good voice actors

This look like swordigo, my favourite. I will download.
@Icebox I get the problem of doing everything yourself. I also struggle with art but I'm getting there. If you need help with the script for your dialogue I can help you with that. I'm a writer, among other things. Just inbox me and let me see what I can do.
I like the cape movement. Really nice.
Looking good! Love the cape animation and the way the screen shakes at times.

LOVE IT
Yes. Swordigo feel.
Very nice @Icebox
I like the smoothed camera movement, especially in the vertical direction.

I think this game will beat Swordigo
I was just about to comment on the nice camera movement you have perfected there but @Hopscotch has beat me to it!
Wow thanks alot everyone , i wanted to see if the quality is good and i have been getting great feedback. The cape animation made things harder cause i had to put in extra code and animation frames for transition between jumping and touching the ground while running + jumping and touching the ground while standing.I was worried that it would be noticeable, so i'm glad it isn't, now i can focus on the rest. Thanks again for all the feedback
Looks great, really loving how it's all coming together!

This is great! Really nice use of parallax colour + lighting to imply depth to the scene, and the characters are really eye catching. Awesome stuff. I also really like the sound design, the music fits well and the sound effects are good too. Might want to add in a couple of different sounds for the same effect to add a bit of variety, or you can simply change the pitch of the same sound file.
I love seeing progress videos like these, keep them coming!
Agreed, I've also found that adding a little randomness into the pitch can really help on non-musical elements (sounds without strong musical overtones), this randomness tends to work best in the 0.9 to 1.1 range for pitch (so random(9,11)/10), anything outside of that range, and especially on rapidly repeating effects, starts to sound a little comical if the pitch is jumping up and down, keeping it subtle does the trick, it really helps sound effects from sounding repetitive.
Icebox's music is in G (I'm reasonably sure ?) and his diamond pick-up sound is tuned to that key (I think they are a D or maybe even G), so if he were to change the pitch of that sound it would need to be kept in tune, so random pitch changes would need to be kept to whole tones, pitching a sound by 105.94631% will raise it a semi-tone, so a whole tone up will be 1.12246206026161 (1.0594631 x (105.94631%)).
*Don't ignore those decimal places otherwise your sounds will quickly slip out of tune !!
@Icebox
On the subject of audio, your track has a lot of energy in the sub-400Hz range, the vast majority of which the average mobile device user will never hear, this means the poor little speaker on an iPhone will be fighting to put out audio no one can hear (iPhone speakers are specified to go down to 20Hz), which means all your other audio (above 400Hz) will necessarily be lower in volume, it's always a good idea to gently roll off (filter) everything below 400 or so, it just makes mobile speakers more efficient, which means you can have a more punchy and loud lower mid and mid range, which is what people hear.
@imjustmike Ah now i cant test the game without hearing the sound being repetitive , i didnt notice at all. Thanks for pointing this out ill try to change the pitch as you said and see the result.
@Socks I don't know anything about audio (G , D , key) are just random letters to me at this moment so i cant say i fully understand what you mean. I bought the music and it was at 44100 Hz and i changed it to 22050 Hz to reduce its size in audacity , and upload it in gamesalad. Is this what you mean by 400 Hz to 20 Hz ? With the coin sound colliding on the floor and picked up i actually downloaded random beep alert sounds from the web ( royalty free). I modified it with audacity by changing tempo/pitch/speed and added echo until i felt it sounded good, and in gamesalad i changed the pitch to 1.1. The same goes with all the sounds in my game. I didnt notice i can use the expresion editor with the pitch , ill add the random method you gave and will test and see , thanks !
