Release Date Issue

OK so I’m a little slow. I created an app called Bubble Bees and set its release date to 8/3. Apple approves the app on 8/1. On 8/3 it appears in the App Store with a release date of 8/1. Which means it's never on the top of the new list.

I was trying to figure out why my sales totally sucked on this app even when it was in the New and Noteworthy list and has a high rating.

On all my other apps I would just change the release date to the approval date when I got an email saying it was approved.

So the question is... Should I just rename this game and release it again? What other options do I have? What do you think I should do?

No comments about me being a little slow.

If you are going to re-release, you should pull the app as soon as possible, before too many ppl buy the original.

I would re-release it, but normally what you do is as soon as you have an app that is accepted in the store, change the release date to the next day, and save it....

I did have an issue where I did that, and it took a day for it to kick in (the actual release date) but if it hasn't rendered itself yet, it probably won't.

So definitely re-release and do so sooon

I've never had to re-release. Can I just remove the app and resubmit, or do I have to change the name first?

you have to make a new app id, a new provisioning profile change the name (even if you just add a "!") republish with gs. go to itunes connect- add new application- reupload using application uploader.
Its as if you were publishing a new app-

is this really how the release date thing works?
What's the point in setting a release date, if it goes by the approval date???

confused...I always set the release date to be the day after approval...but need to do things differently with our latest app... but not sure I should now :o(
