How do user knows if iPod is compatible with my app, the app is for 3Gs only.
Were he looks to find this info on iDevice?

Technically they shouldn't be able to pay/download it through the app store with a device that is too old.

You can download on iTunes desktop as it's not a device, but you won't be able to transfer it to a non compatible device
