How to remove the home and back buttons from the sceen - Android

Hey, I've made a couple games and I find this very annoying: http://www.pocketables.com/images/2012/01/Menu_Button.gif
The buttons from Android devices are blocking the screen so that the game layout moves a little bit to the other side. My question is how to remove that and activate it with the finger like other apps. On many other games is this possible.

I'm pretty sure you can't remove or turn them off in Gamesalad. You need to plan your game around them. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You can't =/ But it is possible to hide them if gamesalad chose to support that. Check bugs.gamesalad.com for it and if no requests exist, add one!

There is a feature request to remove them, it is called immersive full-screen mode.

I couldn't find the feature request that I made for immersive mode, but here is one someone else made:
