Apple Promo Codes not international

Hi guys,
I prepared some promo codes to promote my app just before launch, and sent some of them to different countries (USA, UK, Australia, Brazil...). I was unable to make them work outside US and opened a ticket at Apple.

Apple confirmed me the promo codes should work anywhere, but actually they are working only on country of origin - similar to iTunes codes which work only in one designated country.

Apple also stated their engineers are currently working in a fix. I suggested they put a small comment on promo code generation page.

    Apple emailed me informing the issue was solved.
    I'll only be able to test it on next App version.
