FEATURE REQUEST: implement ReplayKit API for iOS

Agent ArgyleAgent Argyle Member, PRO Posts: 188

Apple recently introduced a new API called ReplayKit that allows users to record video of their game sessions.
See: https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2015-605/

Implementing this, even ahead of arguably more necessary functions that we have been asking for for years, might make sense for a few reasons.

  1. It may be relatively easy for the GS Devs to implement since it looks like just a simple API call.

  2. I've read that Apple tends to look favorably upon apps that use new iOS features.

  3. Players sharing their video replays will help spread awareness of our games.

Of course, as I said, there are far more pressing issues. But this one might be worth a look.

Nice! I am learning to code with swift and will review ReplayKit. My goal is to code my first app using swift by the end of this year. My target device is the Apple TV. I have been testing simple apps out with my Apple TV DEV kit. I will vote for the feature request. :)

    Thanks for sharing!
