App screen shots - ad hoc testing

Hi, I'm trying to publish my app on iTunes connect so I can do some Ad Hoc testing. It says that you're required to take screenshots and upload at least one for all different device sizes. However I only have one sized device, so cant literally take a screenshot on all the different device sizes. Has everyone else just taken a screen shot on the mac and the scaled the pictures to the right sizes? If so does anyone know the correct sizes I should use?

Also, my app works fine on the GameSalad viewer on different sizes because I was able to quickly test that on my dads bigger iPhone. Will that translate when ad hoc testing and uploaded to the app store when finished? Or will it only work for 5s phones?
Thanks,
Jack

You don't need to publish to iTunes Connect for AdHoc testing.

In terms of screenshots, it depends on your app, really. With some apps, you can do screenshots on one device and edit them later, but be careful -- it needs to represent the experience your user will have.

Otherwise, you can install (or could in the past) the Viewer onto the simulator in Xcode, and make the screenshots there.

This is true...you litterally dont need to put in any information beyond creating the app in tunes to adhoc test....just follow all procedures in the area called "pre relase"....this will allow you to adhoc test. Now also keep in mind there is...another way to adhoc test unless your wanting others to test with you....be sure you are signing with an adhoc profile...and after signing you can load it directly to a decice via xcode...I have a video tutroial for that...hmmm let me see what thats at...brb

    Ahhh yes there it is...

    Toodles !

Hi guys, thanks for all the help. So to clarify, when doing an ad hoc test I can skip the GS cookbook section on "Preparing an App for submission via iTunes Connect" and go to the apple publishing section to create a .app file then ad hoc? Then when im happy to upload to the app store go back and create the iTunes connect part? And when it does come to that part what is your advice on screenshots?

    Thanks again,
    Jack

Yes I believe you can skip that part for now. The Cookbook is very procedural and not ALWAYS neccessary to follow it to the "t"...it is a guide.

My advice in screen shots is to use @gingagaming screenshot creator. Im sure its available in the GSHelper/marketplace....it creates all the screenshots for you. A great tool.

    Thanks for the mention @Thunder_Child

If you require screenshots for all devices and will be publishing with the GS feature "stretch" then my screenshot tool will create all you screenshots in a matter of seconds. You can download it here:

    http://gshelper.com/shop/tools-2/easy-screenshot-create-screenshots-fast-for-all-major-app-stores/

If you are publishing using overscan then you would have to create the screenshots manually which can be time consuming. I would certainly suggest downloading my tool and giving it a try.

You can also install your apps ad hoc right on the simulator.
