Working with Pause

Ok, so I made an inventory system that pops up when you press the pause button to allow you to use an item.
When I unpause, the camera on the level scene stays stuck at the spot where you paused at{at the 33 second mark}:
Should I abandon pause? My other method was to just have the inventory screen available at character select. To allow the character to take only 1 item into a level.
I could probably just do a fix by having camera follow behavior reset after an unpause, but is there anything else about pause I should watch out for? I remember hearing glitches in the past relating to it, and how some just choose to make a custom pause of their own instead.
