Need help in photoshop!!

Does anyone know how to make a half circle in photoshop?
I am not very experienced with photoshop so i need someone to lend me a hand .
Btw , is this out of topic? If yes , i apology for it

This is how my non-expert self would do it.. I'm pretty sure my worflow would make any expert cry.

Hi,
Create a new layer. Drag out a circle while holding down the shift key, this will keep the shape of the circle. Then turn on rulers, cmd + R, or ctrl + R and a set of numbers will appear top and left on your canvas. Go to view menu and turn on snap. Place your cursor in the top or left ruler space and click and drag out a ruler line, this will snap to the centre of you circle. Then using your rectangular marquee tool drag a box around one side of your circle and delete it. Tada! half circle.

You just can make a half circle use Photoshop pen tool. Its an easier way to do that.
