What devices do you test on?

What devices do you typically test you games on? I am trying to decide whether or not it is worth keeping all of these extra phones or if I can unload them on eBay.

I currently have an iPhone4 and a 3GS and my partner has a 3G.

It depends if you say on your game 3G or higher. It might be worth selling the 3GS and then using part of the money for a 1st or 2nd gen ipod so you can get a feel for how it works on the slower machines... They are still a huge part of the market so it can be annoying if you download a game only to find its cripplingly slow.

I have an iPad / iPhone 4, and have recently purchased a used iPod Touch 1G so that I can test the bare minimum. A good range I think :)

Theres no point in 1st geners any more because there incompatible with iOS4... So the've been effectively neutralized...

I build for the lowest common denominator (almost) I test on a multitasking enabled iPod Touch 2nd Gen...

If I truly wanted the lowest common denominator thats actually the 3G, but my partners have 3G'z so I'm covered.

In another year all the 2nd Gen hardware will be wiped out with iOS5 so soon they wont be necessary either.

I use a 2G and 3G iPod Touch. I want to get an iPad too as I refuse to release anything without extensively testing on actual hardware.

@chosenone... is that true? Good for me... first game is 3GS only! lol.

How'd you get multitasking on a 2G?!?!?! Both my touches have iOS4 but multitasking only works on my 32GB 3G.

What firmware are GS games built for at a minimum?! As in you can build for 3.0?

Right now its 3.0 but it wont be that way for much longer.. Also I think you might be able to change it...

Right so how is a 1G iPod Touch pointless? I have 3.1.3 on it and can download apps just like anyone else. Just because apps are COMPATIBLE with iOS4 doesn't mean that users can't PAY and download them on lower firmwares.. All my apps are built for the lowest possible to ensure the biggest userbase, and I want to make sure my apps are good to go on every device. When the time comes for 1Gs to be ditched I'll get a 2G, just so I can have the range of performance of devices to test with :)
