Gamesalad for Windows does not play any sounds

in Working with GS (PC)

I'm trying to put some music and sounds in Gamesalad for Windows but even though I don't have any muting behaviours set (in fact, I even have one setting it to full volume), it still doesn't let me play any sound. I can't even preview any file, be it .mp3 or .wav, from the assets pane on the left hand side. What may be preventing me from playing the music and how can I overcome it?

    OK, turns out bitrate was causing an issue. After changing it to 192kbps, I'm able to succesfully play the clip in the editor preview but still trying to use it with the Play Music behaviour ends in complete silence. What may be causing this?
