Off subject, but that's also a crowded field, and not always true. I think there is a definite audience for niche markets. This app would have possible grabbed some people who never even play game... just because of the subject.

A couple of random thoughts that photics has brought out...
I am not a life long gamer (parents thought it would rot my brain). I love to create. I love to write and record songs. I have a full time teaching job and live a simple yet comfortable life and don't need to make money off these games. So far I have mostly made games that have an ulterior motive. I have made 5 (soon to be six) science games (I am a science teacher) and I have made some games to promote my band and the music I write. XMB is the one game that I made that was simply meant to be a game. So I understand that for some gaming is an escape from things like politics, but for me game making is like any other art - an opportunity to say something. It may be saying something about science so my students can learn about the human body or this case I was simply trying to point out that there is a racist element to the tea party that I find disgusting.
So I do plan on trying to find ways to make games that are fun but also say something that I feel moved to say.
Well, that's an intelligent reply. I too see gaming as art. However, I am in mass-production mode. I'm more focused on making games that sell, rather than games that have a message or an agenda. Can you do both? I think so, but hopefully cliques don't start forming here. There are too many websites online that have a political slant to them.
I have no problem with republicans (I was raised by them!). I just have problems with racists. This game was meant to point that out in a sarcastic sort of way. I will admit that I think Palin is an idiot, but I don't think she represents the republicans that I know and respect. Anyways, I certainly do not want to create cliques within the GS community and I have no ill will towards photics. Time to get back to work on what is becoming a monster of a project (a completely NON-political game!)
I reallly think that if Apple rejects your concept, they better pull all the other right wing claptrap that is all over the app store. Just a brief search unearthed scores of objectionable material.
Parody is certainly permitted on other subjects. Maybe if you used that argument, you could get your published,
I for one would love to see it but the darn GameSalad webplugin does not work since I upgraded Safari to 5 and the webplugin to .8.8

You seem very smart and I like your philosophy. I certainly have no ill will towards you either. I actually think you're a great member of this community. Games can make a difference in society and I do consider games to be art. They can change the world for the better and I think you have the talent to make something like that happen. That's why I'm glad that you're moving on to a new project!
Games can also be a source of parody, encouraging people to examine the nature of their surroundings. Teabaggers ARE racist, and this should be fair game for discussion. A game could be written to espouse the other side as well. Free speech is free speech.
I think it is awful that Apple will not allow the truth to be told, and yet allows so many right wing diatribes to exist.
Try again Scitunes, before we all lose our freedom of speech.
It's going in the right direction. Everyone of my GameSalad projects does a little bit better than the one before it. The iAds thing messed up my momentum, but the book project is probably more important than that. Once I finish up the book, I can get back to making games. I have a lot of good ideas to work on.
