pont and click five nights/night trap, type game
Hi guys, I've a bit of time over the coming weekend and wanted to try something new, and to learn, so I was thinking of making an adventure type game like five nights at Freddy's etc, but not a horror game, a bit more like night trap! maybe, so just have a few questions about the code design and hoping someone can help..
1: Would each level be a single screen game, ie the cctv cameras are all on the same scene and im just switching between game camera locations?
2: Would it be best practice to learn using tables to keep track of game mechanics stuff!, rather than game attributes?
3: Does anyone have any experience that could offer some best practices with this type of game, ie image size and amount per scene to keep it running nicly..
thanks guys
jay

1: gamesalad's camera controls are solid, i think changing between scenes (cameras) is a bit metal gear.
2:using tables are perfect provided you dont want to release it as a browser game as well.
3: if youre doing a point and click, start with a "ai pathfinding" tutorial or vectored path template. its worth a couple dollars. i may have seen one @Deepblueapps ? although building agame from scratch is evenbetter.
@JOSHIWU thanks for the advice man will take it all on board, also didn't know tables weren't transferable to a browser game!
