Instruments Tool in Xcode 6.0.1 is not letting me select iPad Air

In brief the Instruments tool in Xcode 6.0.1 is not letting me select my iPad Air as my target device.
It appears in the drop down menu. However when I select it not happens. It only reads my Mac Book Pro.

I have upgraded my device to the latest iOS 8

Does anyone know what this might be?

I have never had this problem before.

Upgrade Xcode and be sure it indexes your device. I think the latest version of Xcode is an external update aka you need to download it straight from App Store not through update.
