How were sales for you yesterday? :)
  • CrazybreadmanCrazybreadman Member Posts: 674
@butterbean- It sold 80 yesterday. I think it would be more if the review score was higher. Reviews are split between 1s and 5s even in foreign countries. I have no idea why. There are a bunch of 1's but nobody is leaving a comment. I don't know if it's crashing or has to do with performance on dif devices or what. If it just has to do w/ the game I have no idea what those users want improved... kinda frustrating.

Well done on getting the featured. Hope you get a better sales bump today.
We just had doodle ski in the N&N and our first day of featured was ok ish...but from day 2 onwards was when the real bump happened.
  • butterbeanbutterbean Member Posts: 4,315
It is frustrating, and I can't wait until they get rid of that delete and review system. Some people leave good feedback while others just don't care! I wouldn't take the 1 star reviews too personally, I think it's a well done and well polished game, so hopefully you'll see a good sales bump this weekend!

@sparkyidr- Thanks man. Good job w/ Doodle Ski too, it looks like it did *very* well! Yeah, Doodle Cannon was only featured for the later half of the day and it seems to be going up the charts more today, but I wish Doodle Cannon had the same placement that Doodle Ski did on the main page. As of now, you only see it if you tap the hot new games button which is fine, but you had the front page... lucky ;)

@Butterbean- Thanks & agreed on the reviewing system. I don't take it personally, but I just wish I knew what was causing the 1 stars. For some people it just takes one thing to make them delete and leave 1 star (like the initial loading time or not understanding how to play correctly). Ya know, I *would* like for most people to be happy w/ the purchase :) Well, I'm doing a little update now for general improvements and some extra polish (like smoke trails from the bomb wicks).

Did you do the art yourself CrazyBreadman? Did you use illustrator? Looks great!
  • CrazybreadmanCrazybreadman Member Posts: 674
Yep, I did it in Illustrator. It produces some nice clean doodle art when you use pencil or chalk brushes. Also it's pretty easy to animate with vector art which is a perk.
  • butterbeanbutterbean Member Posts: 4,315
Cool! How did you do the animations then? Is it just easier with Vector images, and you draw them frame by frame?

It's just easy to edit lines, shapes, scale or whatever to want to change. Also if you have a char w/ moveable parts it's easy to manipulate the parts. One of the cool features in illustrator is when you use the pencil tool you can just draw over your old lines and they change shape as you draw. So having a wacom tablet is a plus too.

    thanks
  • CrazybreadmanCrazybreadman Member Posts: 674
You can get an app link in iTunes by clicking on the arrow below your icon and click copy link. Hyperlinks will work on the forum. Oh, since you're outside of the US I cant gift an app (it wont work, sorry).

Yesterday it sold 130 which is much better than Thursday. It's still gradually rising the charts so that's a good sign. Probably won't make top 200 games overall, but maybe top 50 in Family and Strategy if I'm lucky :) Also AppModo is working on a review so that should help a bit.

    this is awesome!

@deadpixelz- There may be a Doodle Cannon 2 sometime in the future, but for now I'm trying to add levels and new content to make the game bigger and better instead of just working on a sequel. I hope that the physics in GS improve as time goes on also.

    @p-o-m- Thanks, I'm glad you're diggin it :)

Nice work breadman! Any updates on sales?
  • CrazybreadmanCrazybreadman Member Posts: 674
@Shizane- Yeah I like to work on 3 or 4 projects at a time and switch around too, but once I get to a point where I have all the pieces in place for one of the games I just have to stay focused and build the thing until it's ready for release. The hardest (and most frustrating) part is trying to get all the bugs and kinks worked out. Just keep plugging along w/ your favorite project and get it done. Being proud of your first app and having it in the store is worth it :)

@jweaver911- Thanks, sales yesterday were 160 and it looks like it still has an upward slope on the charts as well. Appmodo is posting a review tomorrow, so that may give it an extra boost. I'll post a link to the review when it's up!

    that's awesome! Good for you!

Cool thanks for the tip CB :) I've been a Graphic Artist for 12 years and a gamer for much more, so this has been a dream of mine for a while.

Had a quick suggestion for your ipad version: The 'Menu' and 'Retry' on the top right are a bit on the small side for pushing.
  • CrazybreadmanCrazybreadman Member Posts: 674
@Shizane- Thanks for the feedback. I can make the collision boxes larger next update and that should do the trick.

So here's my review on AppModo!

Great stuff....great review...was it easy to get them to review your app?
  • TouchTiltGamesTouchTiltGames Member Posts: 1,162
I would say If the game is decent it isn't hard to get accepted...I own Aeropause.com and we review games for almost all the big Publishers/Devs..although we haven't really done any mobile stuff.
