Graphic Specs for iPad Graphics

When creating graphics for the iPad in photoshop, I have the resolution set to 132 ppi (pixels per inch, based on Apple's tech specs).
Should I be using 8, 16 or 32 bit RGB color mode?
Any other tips would help too, if any!
Only asking because some of my graphics appear a different color on the iPad than on my computer. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the info guys!
You shouldn't really think about dpi or ppi, those are for the printing industry.
72dpi is considered the standard for screen resolutions. Maybe that will change as pixel densities keep getting tighter.
You should really only think about the number of pixels...
The iPad has dimensions of 1024x768, so your graphics need to be 1024x768.
The iPad and iPhone have smaller pixels than your computer or laptop screens, so things will appear smaller on the devices. This is something to consider when making buttons and things people need to interact with.
The new iPhone 4 has 4 times the amount of pixels then previous devices, at 960x640.
Which is great news for iPhone/iPad developers since you COULD make your graphics 960x640 for both devices, the iPad would just be letterboxed.
I don't know how that would work for older(current) devices though.
I often work in 300dpi on intense gfx for better texture and then save a copy in 72dpi...
your choice of RGB color mode... the quantity of color-shades in the image... depends on the image... less shades, use less RAM... so for are good for less detailed graphics.
the term HD has no real relevancy for iPad... it is usually just added by the developer to denote that app it is for the iPad. (though you can call your app anything you want!)
