Guys, probably not the best thread to talk about technical issues, but...
I uploaded a game to the arcade for the jam (first time I've done this), and a load of my attributes seem to a bit screwy... The game works perfectly in the GS preview and on iOS but some images are disappearing and some icons won't disappear when they should... very strange! Anyone else having/had problems? Bit frustrating as I want to submit it but I also don't want people thinking it's a buggy as hell game when it's not...
I was bouncing back and forth between different ideas for this GameJam, but then I thought back to my childhood. One of the games I liked a lot was a game created in the 80's called Number Munchers. So I created a game that's inspired by it, but very different.....
@outlandishPIXEL I had a lot of issues with my entry on the arcade for the first GameJam a couple of weeks ago. It played fine on preview and iOS, but was really buggy on the arcade. I ended up making a striped down version for the contest by removing a lot of movement rules and particle effects. It still didn't run like normal, but it became playable.
@8bitAvrin yeah it's so bizarre. There's nothing I can really strip apart, it's such a simple game! It's so frustrating. I've tried it on safari and chrome and had different experiences on them as we (safari doesn't play the audio and it's frame rate is crazy slow)!!! Html has not been my friend this week. Don't think I'll be publishing any html games in the future. Here it is anyway, totally playable, it just doesn't display the score properly and the hull, reversed direction display, missiles count and missile buttons don't work. If I had more time I'd look into it. I would suggest downloading it on iPad as it plays as intended with no bugs.
Hey guys, went all out on this game and it's still nowhere near where I want it to be but had to publish anyways due to the deadline. I made everything entirely for the jam, pixel art graphics, music and gameplay elements. I will definitely be updating this baby and bringing it to mobile stores once it's polished enough!
SPACE DUDE! To The Rescue is a fun retro-themed-space-shooter in the style of classic video games from their prime time era... The 80's! Help Space Dude get his BABE back from the INVADING ALIENS that captured her! BLAST! your way past SPACE ROCKS!, UFOs!, and even ENTIRE PLANETS! in this EARTH-SHATTERING adventure!...wait, no Earth will be just fine! That is if you save it from DESTRUCTION!...DUDE!
Just a note for my game (http://arcade.gamesalad.com/games/126427) There are 3 diffrent enemies, 2 powerups and a health supplier. You just need to get enough points to see them!
Well here she is!! My first game! I published it for the jam, but it didn't work so well. I tried stripping it down to only one level as opposed to three, and I got rid of as much excess coding and info possible. The gameplay isn't as smooth as I was hoping it would be, but I'm still pretty happy for my first go. This may not be the place to ask, but any suggestions on how to make it less "laggy" (without sacrificing audio if at all possible)? In the meantime, please check it out! Hope you enjoy it!
Mines up on the arcade. Ninja Bounce. The only problem is, when the game resets, all the spikes disappear. Worked fine in the built in tester, so no Idea what is wrong.
I just don't think the HTML5 arcade is quite there just yet in terms of performance... It works fine on decent computers, but does seem to struggle on a lot of tablets... With timer issues and things not triggering properly on lower spec hardware.
Seems its definately aimed at simpler games, with less things going on at once.. but it's been interesting publishing to the arcade and seeing what it's capable of.
It's definately pushed me into the camp that would like to see true HTML5 publishing finally implemented fully in GS.

Does anybody know when we get our free month of pro?
@myu699 I believe the plan is for us to get them at some point in December, but I can't remember where I read that. But it wasn't a definite date.

Here's my submission, I only had a week to work on it. Didn't get much sleep and also overdosed on caffeine haha! Working on polishing it more.
