images.xcassets -- almost 2 MB of unnecessary graphics in EVERY GameSalad game

Does anybody know why there are these images in the published package of GS games? The images are GS icons and loading screens -- absolutely unnecessary! Is there a way to remove them and save space?

Is it possible to delete these and other unnecessary files from published binaries on the side of GS publishing? @BlackCloakGS‌?

I agree, kinda annoying. It is technically possible to remove them but i think asking GS to simply remove them from the signing binary is best :).

If you remove them yourself then the app file will no longer be valid since you will break the signature for the file.

Some of those things are for when you use their more games services. But yeah their files are sometimes messy. They seem to have little time for house keeping. Let's hope then new cross platform creator is neater and more organized.

The biggest files (1.6 MB total between them) are loading screens with a big GS logo. I cannot see that ever being used in my case.

Some of these are probably linked to things that show up when you aren't a PRO user, and that I understand, but since the Publishing portal is aware whether you are PRO, and also whether you are using their More Games service or not, it should easily determine when not to add these assets.

Well actually thats not entirely true, once the app is signed then changing the app package won't work with the provisioning yes, but it is in-fact possible to do if you so wanted.

    Care to elaborate on that?

Not overly as I don't think it is right mucking around with GS software or using programs that strip the provisioning of assets.
Although I do think GS needs to address the added files and labelling of files etc.

It's hard enough to skimp on files ourselves, let alone GS don't give a... what do you call it again? Adam!

Having a small download means a lot to Android users. Giving users a very simple game with 12mb download made of Gamesalad versus an "XXX's World" platformer with only 5mb, don't give us a fighting chance. I wonder where all those "Something's World" game templates came from!?

@pHghost the best way to get something done about it would be to submit a feature request and get people to vote on it.

Yeah, I guess you could call it a feature request.

@pHghost start a new thread with the word vote it the title so people can easily see it. Something like "Vote to remove 2 MB of unnecessary GS graphics from published games". People like me with small games probably wont want to use one of their five precious votes on it but there are plenty of others who might vote for it if they know about it.
