edited September 2014 in Announce Your Game!

My first game has finally been released, only a year and a half in the making :# It was a total solo development besides the music and sound effects which were done by Matt Oglesby who I found here on gamesalad.com

Some of the others that have helped me along the way @DeepBlueApps , @Jigglybean , and @Socks

Deepblueapps played a major role in the game as you can see the explosions are used with their Explosion Generator app + some tweaking in Photoshop and gamesalad. They have a lot of other useful tools you guys must check them out.

Socks was a champ and helped me with a few of the problems I couldn't solve. This game wouldn't of happened if it wasn't for the community, I don't know how they all have free time to answer questions while developing games.

Well enough said, now about the game!

CrackShot available from the App Store, Google play and Amazon.

A truly addicting game that allows players to spawn a bow at the touch of a finger anywhere on the screen and shoot targets arcade style!

CrackShot features three addictive game modes - Survivor Mode, Time Attack and Training mode all built to test your skills and endurance.

Shoot targets, take out combos and rule the leaderboard! Convert points to game currency and head to the weapon store where you’re able to buy all sorts of power-ups to help you smash those High Scores.

Skills and technique play a key roll in this game and make your scores stand out from the crowds. So play it smart and remember, your not playing to score points, your playing to score respect!

Watch in HD

Download free from the App Store!

Would love to here your feedback and answer any questions you have. I'm really proud of it and hope you all enjoy!
If your able to leave a review I would really appreciate it! Just PM me and I'll do the same for your game.

Can you post a link? I'm lazy! :p

Played with it. Nice explosions! Good concept.

@Pocket_Tech You did an excellent job creating gameplay that people are familiar with, while still being original and unique. I am reminded of fruit ninja, Which I think is good for the games attitude. Nice work!

@gamestudent‌ thanks a lot! Yes I must say Fruit Ninja and Angry Birds helped inspire this game. I love the simple mechanics of fruit ninja and wanted to go down that road. Some people have trouble trying to figure the bow out, others pick it up straight away.

Animations and eyecandy are great. May I suggest? Can you put "combos" when I shoot more than 1 lanterns? Maybe like "combo x5" if I shoot 5 lanterns in one shot or something like that.

One thing that haunts GS games is the slow loading times. But it's not your fault. I hope someday the chefs from up above would do something about it.

Like the concept and at you've got there! Nice job!

  • Pocket_TechPocket_Tech Member Posts: 50

Thanks @Braydon_SFX‌ @jigglybean‌ yeah the hard work is slowly paying off. I have had some issues with the game playing on iPhone 4 and 4S

  • Pocket_TechPocket_Tech Member Posts: 50

@yattamove yeah that's how I've got it set up at the moment. The combos start at 5 lanterns, if you hit five with the arrow "5 hit combo" will appear and so on after that. Do you think I should start the combos at say three lanterns?

I know what you mean about the slow loading times. GameSalad has a few improvements to make before being a solid, reputable gaming engine, but you and I know all about that. Thanks again for the insights dude I value your feedback.

Looks awesome! Great spin on fruit ninja :D

    @Pocket_Tech‌
No problem bro! I think you should make it start at 2 lanterns for combo IMHO. So that first time players would already know. Or maybe they are used to Fruit Ninja? The more things "happening" in the scene with less user input makes a game more addicting.

Very cool. Nice work. Like the sound track.

Please do not download this game. The dev has failed to stay in touch with his audio guy (me) and pay him since the game has been published.

    Thanks,

    Matt Oglesby

Thats a shame Matt :( It might be because the game hasn't made any money but the dev should of kept you up to date with sales regardless.

Absolutely - it was agreed that I'd receive scheduled reports on sales and would be kept in the loop. Seems that just as I completed the work dev went AWOL, published it without informing me, and has been ignoring my emails ever since. I've given dev the benefit of the doubt up until now but it's been months with no contact whatsoever.

Apologies for the rant but this is unacceptable and only deters me from working on any rev share projects ever again!

    @mjomusic‌

    Crappy deal !

    Thanks for the warning.

Maybe people should download and then 1 star it to lower its rating.

@mjomusic, just my feeling but I would never work for rev share. I feel if someone does not value my service enough to pay me for it as a set amount on a set schedule then I won't work with them. Sadly maybe chalk it up to a lesson learned. Sorry to hear about the troubles though... :(

Seriously cool video! If you wouldn't mind, could you tell me the software or application you used to get the iphone effect? Have a new game coming out VERY soon and would like to make a video similar to this.
