At What Point?

I would just like to hear from people who have PRO. I'm considering purchasing PRO, and I know that it would be a great help if I could expand to other platforms. But at what point would it be worth it? With the cost of development for android (which is fairly cheap.) it would put me at $325. I'm well aware that in the game industry this is pocket change for overhead. But I'm a college student so it would be a major investment for me.

What types of ads does GSPRO support? Just iAds? Or does it include others?

What should the number of downloads be on a game to even consider it and from personal experience how much does being in multiple platforms help?

Again I realize that something like this is never cookie cutter. I just want some info before I make that kind if purchase.

Thank you,

Jigglebox

    Hi @Jigglebox‌ -

Take a look at this page on GameSalad's website. It displays all of the features that PRO supplies, compared to the features available as a non-PRO user.

I'd recommend building your game first, then purchasing PRO to add in the new features such as ads. Honestly, there is no use purchasing PRO if you haven't started your game - it's a yearly thing you pay for, anyways.

The more platforms you release your game on, the more people will see it...and hopefully download it.

It's a shoot and hit/miss game - I've released (what I think) a very professional looking, working and polished game, yet it didn't take off as well as I'd hoped.

Hopefully the above helps - if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Also there is no use in purchasing pro till they actually have a Pro Version to sell. right now you would just be purchasing the right to talk in the pro forum sections. And paying to learn about all the bugs that arent getting fixed. How this new feature glitched 3 things that were working and now not. You are purchasing the right to assist them in bettering a never ending beta program. Do some real in depth research before purchasing a Pro account. But that is just my opinion. ooops I hear the GS forum police coming.........................

Not that I'm a forum police...I do wear a cape and mask, but that's besides the point.

You have some points - but I personally think publishing to Android is well worth the $299 alone. Android is a huge market and in my opinion, easier to find success depending on which store you publish to. Let's not forget ads and IAP (granted, IAP is currently being worked on because of changes within iOS 8) - They're extremely helpful and again, $299 just for those would be worth it too.

Plus the new network URL which gives you server access. I remember the days all you got with pro was Android, gamecenter and URL. I wouldn't by pro until you're settled on this being your development environment of choice. I've been with GS for four years and I keep up my Pro mainly to test new features so I'm ready to use them when they release. plus I am the Guru so I'm expected to be ahead of the curve..lol

No one has appointed you that, the guru, - its self acclaimed therefore if you feel you don't need PRO then don't get it. Stand up for these outrages expectations and peer pressures :D

It was just a joke and actually Rthurman gave me the name Guru..lol I use the pro features often and like having access to the nightly builds and plus the money is not an issue for me. It enables me to support the community with videos as well.
